About this house rental
By the Pond is a beautiful one level beach house located in Surfside Beach, SC. Has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Can sleep up to 10 people (8 adults max as other 2 beds are a child's bunk bed) Has 2 living areas to allow some get away from eachother time :) Has private salt water pool (heating available @ $300), and a golf cart provided for guest use. Has all the amenities you need to make this your home away from home. Awesome location that is convenient to the beach, shopping, dining and local attractions. Thanks, Kathy& Steve This home requires a weekly 7 day rental of Saturday to Saturday during summer peak season (June- August) with check in at 4:00 PM an checkout before 10:00 AM. During rest of year stays are available for as low as a 2-3 day stay, Reservations are created when payment is made on owner approved booking requests. We sometimes get multiple inquiries for same date ranges that we quote multiple people on the same day. A quote does not equal a reservation or dates held until paid and approved. We generally only allow Family rentals with responsible adult over 30 years of age. We do not rent to groups under 30 years of age. Any non family groups, and/ or people bringing motorcycles or trailers please contact us prior to requesting to book to get approval to reserve. From a guest who stayed- "Our stay was wonderful! It was a great location for our family to stay and spend a week together at the beach. I would like to make a couple recommendations for future stays. Definitely advertise all the wonderful additional amenities that your home provides: beach toys/boogie board items (those are awesome things for families), your game selections for entertainment for kiddos, just how easy access and close it is to the beach, lots of kitchen utensils" Golf cart is legal to ride on streets in Surfside and includes permit to allow free parking at all golf cart parking areas,including golf cart beach access parking throughout Surfside. Ours is a family home which we rent to families only with the renting adult parents being over the age of 30. We only want responsible guests who will care for and cherish our home like we do. Before booking or requesting to book home we request that you read over required Rental Agreement (displayed before asking for payment information during reservation request) to verify our terms are acceptable and if you have any questions. It was our first time visiting Myrtle Beach and we weren’t sure how our vacation would go. We absolutely loved the house… great location and the house is exactly how it’s described on the website. Literally a five minute walk to a beautiful beach. Having a golf cart was an added plus. Kathy is an amazing host and does whatever she can to ensure your time in her beautiful home is a pleasant and enjoyable one. Highly recommend staying here!

This was the 2nd year we stayed at this house and it was just at lovely this time. Very roomy and clean and has everything you need. The pool was one of the most awesome things about this house. It was so nice to have that. It was also just a short walk to the beach and everything else you may need was just minutes away; grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, shopping and attractions. The neighborhood was also very nice and quiet. I highly recommend this property. Thank you and look forward to next time!

The house was perfect for us. Very very clean and stocked with needed items. Amenities such as beach chairs, ping pong table, golf cart, and private pool were used all week. Nice quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this house!!

This is our second time back at By the Pond. The house is lovely! Spacious! Love the two living rooms. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The pool is great after a day at the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and family oriented. That’s why we love Surfside Beach! The owners check in to make sure you have all you need and if there are any issues. I don’t have one negative thing to say. Can’t wait for Summer 2024 at By the Pond!

We had a wonderful girls getaway and enjoyed our time at By The Pond very much. Group of retired friends got together for a beach getaway. The accommodations were very spacious and relaxing. Plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. Cottage in great location…close to both beach and local restaurants. The golf cart came in handy for short runs to dinner, beach and simply putting around the beautiful area. We also enjoyed playing ping pong, fishing and sitting out by the pool visiting. Kathy and Steve were great owners and very prompt in all responses needed. We will definitely return.

We absolutely love By The Pond! We normally stay the same week every year and we look forward to it all year. This house is perfect for our family. We love the amenities and all the extras that Steve and Kathy provide to make vacationing at the beach easier. The house is always clean and welcoming. We have never had any issues, but I undoubtedly know it would be taken care of If we needed anything. They check in a couple times during the week, just to see if everything is okay. I love when things are made simple for me and staying at this house is so simple and relaxing. With all the “extras” in the shed, we don’t need to pack anything for the beach. The golf cart and bikes are a big hit as well. I also want to say that if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there is a great game collection in the house and the ping pong table that provides hours of fun! We look forward to many more vacations here.

We absolutely loved staying at By the Pond! There were 7 (ages 17-78) of us and we had more than enough space for everyone. The location was PERFECT to be able to go back and forth between the beach and the pool. And the two living rooms gave everyone an opportunity to spread out in the evenings to play games or read quietly.
The golf cart was such a great bonus and made heading down to the pier area for restaurants simple! We will definitely be back! We have Ben coming to Surfside since 2006 and have stayed at several different places. This house is top on our list!

We had an absolutely amazing time relaxing and hanging out in the local bars. There is quite a bit to do that is close enough to jump on the golf cart or walk to. We loved how close it was to the beach. We also enjoyed the turtles in the pond and the cute little lizards in the bushes! There is no shortage of seating and the house was fairly sound proof. I would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat!

Loved the area, nice and quiet.
My granddaughter enjoyed feeding the turtles, in the turtle pond. I enjoy sitting by pond with my coffee in the mornings. We took advantage of enjoying the golf cart, we rode through the neighborhood checking out the scenery. We would stay again.
Kathy reached out to check and made sure there was problems with checking in and that they were available if we needed them.
Long story short, we enjoyed our stay.

The property is just wonderful and the owners are great. They thought of everything. It was so nice and clean too. The pool was so enjoyable. It is in a wonderful neighborhood. You really felt like you were in your nice safe home in this area as well. The owners were so much help in guiding us to shopping, eating and entertainment. I have rented in Cherry Grove for years and now this is going to be my go to place because of this home and the owners. I could not have ask for anything any better. Thw owners truely care about their tenants and do everything to make sure they have a great vacation. If you haven't rented this property or one of their other properties you are missing out on a great opportunity.

We love By the Pond! It’s the perfect amount of space for us and having our own private pool is a plus! It’s right by the pond and park area where our boys can fish and feed the turtles. We’ve stayed at By the Pond two summers now and it’s our favorite memories from vacations. Kathy and Steve are awesome and always check in to see how things are going during your stay. We even had a little issue with the pool after a hard storm and they were in the are for their own vacation but came right over to help resolve it so we could enjoy the pool.

The home was well furnished with more than enough space and we all loved the pool and pond. My sister fell in love with the turtles in the pond and all the neighbors were nice as well. The home had literally everything we needed even a golf cart and beach supplies, which we definitely needed and used. It’s close to EVERYTHING you need or want. Great place to stay close to the beach
We stayed here with our two young kids for a week. It was the perfect house, close to the beach and the heated pool was wonderful. The kids loved the nearby playground and got to see a swan in the pond.

Amazing House For Families!
We had an excellent vacation to Surfside, and this house made the trip relaxing and easy. One of the best things about the house is how easy it is to bring all your stuff in! Just 2 steps and you're inside. The location is convenient to the beach so that you can easily walk back for lunch- no need to pack for the whole day! Steve and Kathy are responsive and helpful. We look forward to this trip each year. Thank you for providing such a clean and welcoming home.

Another great stay at “By the pond”!
Our 2021 stay makes our third year staying at By the Pond. Steve and Kathy have made sure the house has everything you need for a great vacation. The location itself is great!. Our kids loved going out first thing in the morning and seeing the turtles and fish in the pond. We have never had any issue come up while we were staying, but I am confident if we did - Kathy and Steve would take care of it immediately. They always check in to make sure everything is okay and if we need anything when we check in. The house and pool is always really clean when we get there. All the little extras ( especially the golf cart ) really put this house over the top and why we continue to come back for our yearly family vacation.

"By the Pond" is the perfect house for our family!
The house is in the perfect location in Surfside. Short walk to the beach and golf cart ride to Garden City. All of the local parks are close as well. No Stairs! Kids enjoy playing in the pool and fishing in the pond from the dock.

Very nice property - the private pool is really nice to have! And the golf cart was very helpful in getting around to the beach (but it's not that far to walk). Clean, comfortable, nice neighborhood. Would definitely return to this location.
