Amazing Waterfront Cabin on Placid Lake
About this cabin rental
This quality, comfortable lake cabin is located nine miles from Hayward and is tastefully decorated with a Northwood's theme and has wonderful lake views. Knotty pine walls and ceilings throughout the interior create a wonderful 'Up North' experience. This excellent family all-season getaway or retreat cabin is just what your looking for. The main level is an open floor plan that includes a great room and dining area adjacent to a very functional kitchen. The kitchen is filled with modern cooking utensils, updated appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and cupboard. The large counter island accommodates extra seating for five. The main room has chalet windows with a great panoramic view of the lake and firepit area. The newly replaced deck with see-through view also provides comfortable outdoor seating including a view of the lake and fire area. The main level has two bedrooms (queen beds) and a full bath. A large deck complete with a gas grill overlooks the lake and dock area. An attached 10x10 screened in porch is furnished with adirondack chairs creating a relaxing area to enjoy. The lower-level family room has two double futons and a single chair/ futon sleeper, a woodburning stove, flat screenTV/DVD player, bar/sink area, and an under counter refrigerator. The lower level also includes a third bedroom furnished with a full log bed and a log bunk bed, a second full bath, and a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer. Lower level is a walkout to a large cement patio, picnic table, swing and a fire pit generously stocked with ample firewood. The wide and gradual steps to the lake provides access to a large, private dock and a sandy-bottomed swimming area. This cabin is located on Placid Lake with boat access to Burns, Tiger Cat, McClaine, Upper and Lower Twin Lakes. Placid Lake is a 162 acre lake located in Sawyer County. Fish include Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern and Walleye. Placid Lake is a clean, clear lake. Whether you have a pontoon, fishing boat, ski boat, canoe or kayak, all can be used to navigate these waters as you enjoy the natural beauty of the land and wildlife. You will be conveniently located just minutes from several golf courses, a casino, restaurants, attractions, area events, and festivals. The cabin is a recreational paradise with many lakes nearby and snowmobile, ATV, hiking, cross-country skiing, and biking trails. Bird-watching can often be combined with a leisurely paddle on the lake. Experienced fishing guides are also available. It is a Harley Davidson rider's destination and makes a great base camp for all the great riding in the area. The cabin is located 3 hours by car from Minneapolis/St.Paul and 7 hours from Chicago. We had the most wonderful stay at Doug and Gloria's place. They were awesome in their communication, flexibility and helpfulness.
The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful. The view of the lake was amazing, we were able to get out on the kayaks and paddleboat,
Every detail is thought through, clean, spacious and comfortable.
We loved the pool table too!
Definitely will get back here soon and hope to stay longer next time!

This place has it all. Beautiful cabin on the lake, good location, very clean, more additional items provided than you will find at other rentals and on top of that the hosts are great.

We have stayed in this cabin 3 times now as a family (2 children, my wife, and my parents). It is really a lovely cabin on a nice little lake. The kitchen is well appointed with dishes, cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc.
The location is about 15-20 minutes from Hayward. Nice and quiet/serene, but still close to town if you need anything.
Fishing on the lake is decent. We caught mainly bluegill with a few small bass and a few smaller pike. We have also rented a pontoon on nearby Round Lake which is a very nice, very large lake with great fishing.
The hosts are really fantastic. They live in the cabin next door and are so kind. They let us use their coffee grinder, loaned us some powdered sugar to save a trip into town, and even helped us look for the kids who had gotten a little adventurous out in the kayaks and we couldn't see them on the main part of the lake. Doug and Gloria are really just so friendly and accommodating and want to make sure you have a good time.
Highly recommend this cabin (just not when we want it again)!

This was our 7th year staying at Doug & Gloria's cabin for our annual family gathering (6 adults&4 kiddos). Every year the cabin is very clean, well-stocked, and well-maintained. Doug & Gloria provide excellent communication and are extremely accommodating. They live next to property. They go above and beyond in every aspect of host. This wouldn't be our 7th year if it wasn't a great place with kind and caring hosts. Looking forward to year 8!

This house is beautifully appointed. Beds were comfortable. View is awesome. And I bet in summer it would be grand fun. We only slept and rested there during our fall family reunion.

This cabin is beautiful and inviting! You could not ask for anything more! Doug and Gloria have thought of everything a person would ever need when they furnished this cabin. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat, pool table, fire pit and sat on the dock listening and watching the loons. Sure did not want to go home. Thank you Doug and Gloria for sharing your amazing cabin! This was our second visit and we will be back!!

Relaxing R&R time on quiet lake with kayaking and bird watching (mostly loons). Awesome. This was our second visit, highly recommend, but brought our own shade (umbrellas) for the dock.

The cabin was incredibly beautiful. Super clean. And the decor gave you a homey feeling in the north woods! I’m still in awe about it.
Our boys had a great time fishing off the dock and the owners let us play with all their toys.
I honestly couldn’t be happier and have no negatives at all! I highly recommend

Our family has stayed in this cabin for several consecutive years. The cabin is cozy, clean, and very well stocked with almost anything you'd need. The views from the home are lovely, and the lake is beautiful. Fishing overall is average, although my husband did land a 40" musky! The kids enjoyed swimming from the dock as well as the sandbar. The cabin feels remote, yet is within 10-15 minutes of a Walmart for any needed or forgotten items. Doug and Gloria are awesome - available for any questions and warm/welcoming. I highly recommend this cabin :)

There's a lot to do within driving distance. Great restaurants close by. Or if you wish just a great place to hang out and relax. The lake is beautiful. There is amazing wildlife to see. Doug & Glotia were perfect hosts. The cabin was very clean and everything you needed was provided.
We had campfires at with firewood provided. There was kayaks and a paddle boat for our family to use. Everything was perfect. Thanks Doug and Gloria!!!

My husband, myself, and my friends family stayed at the lake house and had a great time! We fished, used the paddleboat, and played pool. It was amazing being able to wake up and look out over the lake. It was a bit cold and windy so we weren't able to use the screen porch as much as we would have liked but you can't predict the weather in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I would recommend this property to anyone who needs some time to relax. The basement was perfect for the 4 teen/tween girls because they had their own bathroom, bedroom, and TV.

My husband, myself, and my friends family stayed at the lake house and had a great time! We fished, used the paddleboat, and played pool. It was amazing being able to wake up and look out over the lake. It was a bit cold and windy so we weren't able to use the screen porch as much as we would have liked but you can't predict the weather in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I would recommend this property to anyone who needs some time to relax. The basement was perfect for the 4 teen/tween girls because they had their own bathroom, bedroom, and TV.

very nice place ,roomy and comfy. Did not like that there were homes right next to us on both sides. We were told at 5 p.m. to turn the radio down even though a sign said quiet time was 10 p.m. Would not go there again because of that fact

Loved this place! Charming, cozy, spacious house with everything you could possibly need in a beautiful lakeside location. The grands loved fishing right off the pier and caught lots! Definitely would love to return for another relaxing getaway.

This place looks exactly like in the photos on VRBO. Exceptionally clean, equipped with everything you could want. Beautiful location on Lake Placid, and we really liked kayaking on the connecting lakes.
