About this house rental
Located in Hilton Head Island, this charming house for R 11,148 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. There are not many places like this home that are less then a 10 minute walk to the beach that have a pool, and on a lake. We have games and activities for all the ages and everything you need to make this a memorable vacation. We will provide coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards and more. We have a sun room overlooking the pool with a wet bar and an arcade game with 60 of the old school games (Ms. Pac Man, Frogger, Battleship among others). This home has a primary suite with a king bed, another bedroom with two queen beds and one with a queen bed and a trundle. This home has a total of five TV's with a 70' tv in the living room and 50' TV in the master suite. Our kitchen has commercial grade appliances. 2023 upgrades include the primary bathroom remodeled and the entire interior of the house was painted. We just added a pool heater and a pool cooler for those hot summer days. We only rent from Saturday to Saturday. Sorry no smoking or pets permitted.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sweet's retreat! The home is beautiful and is exactly as described in the listing. The neighborhood in Palmetto Dunes is stunning. We loved the yard backing up to the lagoon and saw lots of wildlife. Mike was great to communicate with from the time I booked the property until we arrived. He even checked in to make sure we were doing ok and to see if we needed anything. We would highly recommend this property and plan to come back as soon as we can. Thank you Mike for a wonderful memorable trip for us and our son.

Everything about our stay was amazing! The house was immaculate and Palmetto Dunes was gorgeous. There were 6 of us total (2 children and 4 adults) and we were very comfortable, we all had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the outdoor kitchen was an added bonus! The pool was very nice and was heated perfectly for some chilly October evenings. There is a back dock overlooking the lagoon and we all enjoyed watching the turtles and my husband was happy to fish off of it a few times. There is a private beach access withing walking distance and there were beach wagon/chairs/umbrella available for us to use. The property owner was great, we had a few questions during our stay and he responded quickly. Highly recommend this beautiful property!

We had the best time staying at the Sweets' Retreat. The "3 season" porch was a fantastic bonus room that we used every day for meals, playtime, and relaxing. We swam in the heated pool every afternoon and most evenings. The beach was an easy 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride away. This was our first time staying in Palmetto Dunes and we definitely plan to come back. Far and away, however, Mike was a generous host with excellent communication prior to and during our stay.

We loved our stay in Hilton Head. This property was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed watching the birds, turtles and alligators in the pond. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing and the house was a home away from home.

Our family of 6 (3 generations) had an amazing stay at this property! The location was amazing just a short walk/bike ride to the beach, restaurants, general store and other amenities! We LOVED riding bikes around the community and especially on the beach! Thanks to Mike for the Bike Doctor recommendation (delivery and pkup of bikes couldn’t have been easier). The interior of house itself as well as the amenities was perfect for our family as was the spectacular outdoor living space. With the bar, pool area overlooking the lagoon, we were often content to just hang there and enjoyed a lot of QFT just floating in the pool and enjoying the view (including the 2 harmless alligators we affectionately named). Mike was a great host and attentive to our needs!
Some outdoor lighting around the pool and outdoor living space would be a nice addition (for both safety and enjoyment) but all in all, we highly recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!! Book with confidence … you won’t be disappointed!

This is one of our all time favorite places to stay. Mike, the owner, is extremely attentive and helpful. The home was stunning and beautifully appointed. From the excellent renters closet of beach gear to The Sweets recommended dining spots made for the perfect trip. We will be back.

We absolutely loved this house. We hosted thanksgiving with extended family and couldn’t have pictured a better day. We played cornhole (provided by the house) in the backyard, had football on inside, had a fire at night by the fire pit, and had music playing with Alexa outside. Fully equipped for a great time. Nestled in the back of Palmetto Dunes but not a bad walk to the beach access and Cocos down the beach! Can’t wait to stay here again. Owners are great people and so accommodating. Definitely recommend!!!

We enjoyed staying at Mike's home very much. It was well stocked, comfortable, and spacious. We have two going children, so we especially appreciated the "one level living". Mike was extremely communicative throughout our stay, and we really loved seeing all the wildlife from the backyard.

It is rare these days that our whole family gets the chance to be together and even rarer still that its for an extended vacation. We hadn’t been to the beach as a group in several years so we were beyond excited to finally spend some quality time together on the beautiful island of Hilton Head. To add to the excitement was the fact that we had booked a gorgeous house complete with swimming pool, outdoor patio area, incredible kitchen, and stunning views of the lagoon located right in the backyard. The private community that the house is located in, Palmetto Dunes, had easy access to the beach (a ten minute walk past gorgeous southern homes, golf courses and canals) and ample bike trails leading into town that the kids and my husband greatly enjoyed. This was our first vacation with our grandchild and being in a house with all the amenities took of the stress out of planning for us. Mike was an excellent host and was exceptional when it came to communication. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay on HH that doesn’t feel like every other generic rental house, look no further than the Sweet’s Retreat!

I spent a week with my family at the Sweet’s home and it was even more than we could have asked for. The location is perfect with just a short 12ish minute walk to the beach. The pool and yard are fantastic, we fell in love with the view. Especially from the four seasons room! What the photos don’t show are the kitchenette and second full size fridge/freezer in the four seasons room. For a large group, there is ample fridge space for all your needs. The grill is well maintained and there are extra propane tanks as needed. The beach gear and supplies available to renters are in great shape, which is not always the case at a rental property. We didn’t have the best weather, but had no complaints hanging out in the four seasons room playing games and doing puzzles. We saw lots of turtles, birds and alligators in the pond. The beds and couches were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. I highly recommend staying here and hope to be back with my family or friends soon!

This property is an incredible family vacation home -- I say home and not rental because it really did feel like home for the week that we were here! We have been renting beach houses for 12 years and this was by far the best experience we have had all around -- with the property itself, with the owner (Mike is the absolute best - so friendly and caring), and with the neighborhood/area. We loved how clean and organized the house was, and all the thoughtful little details in and around the house really made the difference for us - every time we turned a corner we thought, "oh wow, they thought of that!" The setting out back with the private pool and grill was absolutely lovely, and we are already wishing we could go back. Wonderful family memories were made here.

The Perfect Family Getaway!!!
This house!!!! We can't say enough! It's so clean and cozy! The kitchen is fully stocked! Beds Comfy! And the Pool area was so relaxing! Our girls LOVED the outdoor shower and used it nightly! The shed that comes FULLY stocked with games, pool floats, wagons, umbrellas, chairs...and again a fan favorite...the oversized BEACH MAT! WE didn't need to worry about a thing. Ya'll thought of everything and made our trip the best! The sun room/game room was also a huge hit! The walk to the beach was 12 minutes on the dot! And was a beautiful easy walk - we loved Palmetto Dunes, and have stayed in here several times but this house was our FAVE! WE can't wait to come back!!!

Only rent this home if you want a beautiful house in a great neighborhood that is fully stocked for your beach adventure. The house is spotless, well organized, fully maintained. The couch/unbrella around the pool is sooo comfortable and the private outdoor shower was a hit for everyone. The wildlife around the lagoon was a wonder to watch.

Fantastic family vacation in a park like setting
The house was exactly as described, so comfortable and all the kitchen amenities you could need. The extra refrigerator in the sunroom was a great bonus for beverages. What exceeded all our expectations was the back yard. It was so beautiful and comfortable. We loved using the pool and sitting outside watching the birds, turtles, deer and a few gators. We highly recommend this property the Sweets were great to work with and everything was perfect.

Heaven on Earth!
We completely enjoyed our stay at this Hilton Head Island property and would stay there time and time again. Our family was impressed with the accommodations and peacefulness of the neighborhood. We spent hours and hours in the back yard - swimming, fishing and taking in the beauty. An easy and beautiful 10 minute walk to the beach was added bonus, which we enjoyed versus the more congested public beach accesses. Mike was very assertive and made us feel at home. Our family looks forward to visiting this "heaven on Earth" accommodations again!

Beautiful Home with all the amenities
We have been booking homes via VRBO for almost 20 years and this was our favorite rental EVER!! Mike's house is beautiful and has all the amenities you could ever need or want. We loved the pool and swam every day. It is a short walk to the ocean and we loved not having to pack beach items since towels, chairs and beach toys were all provided. The beds were all super comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. Mike was great to work with and was always available for questions. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this rental to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation in Hilton Head.

The ultimate HH house for a family getaway
From the moment you walk into Mike’s beautiful home, you feel instantly welcomed. The house is immaculate and stocked with everything you’d ever want or need. The home’s vibe is all about relaxation, from the larger-than-average pool size, to the outdoor grill/wet bar area to the Florida/gaming room, Mike has thought of everything so all you have to do is enjoy. Mike was very accommodating with a couple special requests we had prior to our trip, which we greatly appreciated. We only left the house for the gorgeous 7-minute walk to the beach. You’ll love Sweet’s Retreat!

Its A Sweet Retreat... INDEED!!
This is now our FAVORITE property in HH. Everything about it is absolute Perfection ! The house is Beautiful, the beds and furniture are comfy and the ouside area is pure Paradise not counting the closed in porch and deck area with bar and grill. Pictures truly dont do it justice. With the beautiful pool and a tranquil view of the lagoon (even while in the pool ) made our Vacation perfect! Not counting having all the pool and beach extras. This really is a Special place! Excellent property and owner
We had a great time at 17 Full Sweep. Mr Sweet took care of anything that came up during our stay and was so easy to work with. The pool is amazing and was the highlight of our stay. We choose to walk to walk 10 minutes to the beach for the most part but we did see the Dunes Buggy picking up other families so that is an option as well. The wildlife was also really cool to watch right out our back door. We saw several gators, turtles (one my 3 year old affectionately named Broccoli), numerous birds and deer. We would definitely book this house again!
