We had a great time in Lisbon. The choice of the apartment was very successful, as it is excellent in all respects. The only downside is that it doesn't have an elevator and you have to climb 92 steps to the 4th floor. But as soon as you see the view from the balcony, you forget all your tiredness right away!! . But above all I want to congratulate Antonio. He is extremely friendly, smiling and informative.
Nothing.

The view, the balcony, the atmosphere of the flat, the location. Nice shop nearby and whatever you want and need.
Nothing, except climbing the stairs - but it was no a problem to me.

AMAZING view from the balcony, great location in the centre of the city close to all major sights. the apartment was clean and well equipped. Close to supermarket, restaurants and a nice little square.
The many stairs to the apartment 🙂

Excellent Location and view of Lisbon from balcony is sensational. Spacious apartment and everything you need is provided.
There was no air-con in the apartment and we found to very warm at night. There were two fans provided which helped somewhat

We loved the apartment which was spacious and attractively furnished with a wonderful view from the balcony. The location was perfect and we made use of the nearby lifts to get down to the supermarket and pedestrianised area and up to the castle.
Everything was perfect apart from the four flights of stairs up to the apartment!

Apartment had everything we need, comfy beds, equipped kitchen, clean bathroom. Cherry on top was amazing view from the balcony.

Very spacious, welcoming apartment with the most amazing view of Lisbon and the Tejo River. You can see the bridge and the Cristo Rei lit up at night. The apartment is well located for exploring. Antonio is a wonderful host.
If you have a heavy bag, it is a long walk up to the 4th floor apartment-No elevator. The apartment, however, is totally worth the effort.

was clean, comfortable, well maintained and the view from the balcony was amazing.
4 flights of stairs up were the only obstacle if you are not fit for them but out with that nothing. would definitely go back.

Gorgeous apartment with stunning view! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our few days in Lisbon, so glad we booked here and not a hotel. The apartment was very central to everything you might want to see, and right under the castle. Best place to stay in Lisbon! Waking up to the view every morning was amazing, as was watching the sunset in the evening. The host Antonio was so accommodating and greeted us even though it was late in the evening. Can't recommend enough!
Nothing! I would take note that the apartment is up 4 flights of stairs, not an issue for us, but bare in mind when booking.

Unbeatable view and location as everyone before us has said. We loved staying at Retrato de Lisboa, we could not fault it and would highly recommend it to friends and family. It is exactly as described and shown on the pictures. The apartment is situated a few steps away from the city's main square, in the Alfama district, around the corner from the castle and Lisbon Cathedral. It always felt very safe.
You cannot hear any noise at night, you wake up to spectacular views. We slept very well.
There are restaurants and bars down the streets, one supermarket also close by.
Lots of public transport available.
We opted to get a taxi from the airport on day 1, only 24e from the airport. (For the way back to the airport we booked our taxi online with booking.com, that worked out very well too, same price).
The stairs weren't an issue for us, so I could not comment on that (travelled with an 8 year old and 2 seniors) , travelling to Lisbon will mean climbing quite a few stairs anyway.
We thought this accommodation was great value for money.
Washing up liquid, sponge, salt and pepper provided in the kitchen. Lots of towels, a hair drier in the bathroom. Communication with our host was also quick and efficient!

The view from the windows is just breathtaking. The apartment is very spacious, it’s nicely decorated, clean and has everything required for a short stay. Thank you, Antonio, for this wonderful stay! We enjoyed the apartment a lot.
Lots of stairs .. but the view is definitely worth it

Perfect view! Beats most other Lisbon miradouros.
All the usual amenities of a typical rental apartment are provided. Comfy bed and sofa.
In January it can get quite cold in the evenings. The heater is there all right but it struggles at times to warm up the apartment.
Also one must be aware that it's 4th floor with no elevator. Not a big problem for a fit family like us though 😉

Spectacular views, beautifully decorated apartment, condiments provided which many places don't provide. Central location and so easy to explore city on foot. Host was very accomodating and friendly.

The location is... unbeatable. Alfama is the coolest, oldest, most interesting neighbourhood in Lisbon. Just up the street from the apartment are some ruins of a Roman theater (free to view)!
Kitchen had a moka pot, coffee grinds, big fridge, and all hardware you need to prepare meals. There is a drying rack if you want to handwash clothes, a little ironing board and iron, a little TV (that we never used - we just streamed on my laptop).
Nice washroom with a rain shower. Antonio provided additional towels towards the end of our stay.
And the view.... the star of the show. Watching the sunset every day on that balcony will forever be one of my core memories.
The stairs are no fun on the first day -carrying up heavy suitcases to the 5th floor (called 4th floor in Europe).
But... honestly...that view alone is worth it. Eat lots of tapas and drinks lots of ginjinha - work it off climbing those stairs every day!
My partner has a bad back and found the bed a bit uncomfortable.

Amazing apartment in a very convenient location. It was very nicely decorated with all the necessities for international travel. Our host was very helpful in accommodating to our arrival and departure hours and quick to respond.
The only downside was that because we got to Lisbon during some very hot days, not having AC or an extra fan was the only inconvenience.

The apartment was bright, clean comfortable with an awesome view. It was a pleasure to wake up in the morning or come back after a long day of touring to the amazing view in the comfort of this apartment.
As amazing as the apartment was, I’m not sure I would have reserved it if I had known how many flights of stairs I was going to have to climb. I knew there were stairs but the four flights were a bit much for my 70 year old knees. I definitely got my exercise and was rewarded with the spectacular view.

Many stairs - we counted 80 steps!

Just the most amazing location and view from the flat. Lovely clean and airy space. All facilities you need. Antonio was easy to contact and very flexible and accommodating.
Tv was not needed - always so much to view across the water. Also - the most beautiful sunsets!
Just be prepared for the steps to get to the flat - but definitely worth it!!!
Nothing.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The Location was central to everything and had easy access to all of the sites. The Host was friendship and helpful and always quick in answer our questions… the apartment in itself is absolutely wonderful - amazing view, quiet, clean and everything you need. We would definitely love to stay here again!

The view, the view, the view! Additionally the apartment is well located, well set up in terms of catering, great space, very clean and nicely maintained.
I would have liked more towels.

This place is magical .. the view is fantastic, I don't know how we will live without the coffee in front of the sea😅 .. the apartment was exactly what we needed. And additional is the daily training up to the 4th floor. Antonio, thank you so much for the hospitality !!
everything was perfect.

The location is in the old center - the heart of Lisbon -, very poetic and full of history. After the effort to climb four floors (thank you Antonio for luggage help) - as a reward - when you open the apartment door awaits you an oasis of good taste with a wonderful view of the river Tagus, Praço do Comercio ... The apartment has all the facilities for a wonderful stay. Whenever we return to Lisbon we will stay here.

The apartment is in a great location, and the view is stunning. It has a lovely balcony to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine. It's a great base from which to explore Lisbon and has all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Excellent meet up with the host and easy to check out.

Really enjoyed my time at Retrato de Lisboa. The apartment is excellently located, right in the heart of Alfama between the Se and the Castelo, but it's on a quiet side street with very little traffic and no street noise whatsoever (and the windows don't even face the street in any case, so the apartment itself is very quiet indeed). The apartment is very comfortable and was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the essentials. The view from the living room and balcony is also breathtaking; photos truly can't do it justice. Almost makes some of the other viewpoints throughout the city a bit anticlimactic!
The only caveat is that the apartment is on the fourth floor, a climb of about 90-some stairs. Definitely not the only climb you'll be making on your visit to Lisbon, granted, but it could be difficult for those with mobility issues or a lot of heavy luggage. The view is well worth the effort, though!
