Welcome to the historic Homestead at the Dripping Springs. This house is one of three available lodgings each of the three dwellings are unique to their time period, style and setting. Clara's House and Butler Cabin are all part of the Homestead at the Dripping Springs and can be reserved at the same time to sleep a total of 8 people. They are centrally located in the Historic Mercer Street District of Dripping Springs, close to shops, wedding venues, wine trails, parks and beautiful country roads. The newest addition to the Homestead is Willie Mae's Cottage. It is a rock and board/batten cottage with a tiled walk-in shower, large bathroom, kitchenette and breakfast nook that looks out on the large oak tree and swing. The stone used to complete the cottage was furnished from the original smokehouse on the historic property. This romantic cottage is furnished with period antiques and re-purposed wood from the community. Large side porch with rockers that overlook historic corral and ancient oak tree. Includes free continental breakfast, flat-screen TV, WIFI, queen-sized bed, hairdryer, and a snack basket full of goodies.

Right on Mercer Street walking distance to good food, adult beverages and shopping. Great location for surrounding things to do in area. House has sound machine which was a plus. Nice breakfast basket for stay, fruit and breakfast bread banana nut and blueberry yum.

Appreciated the breakfast bread and accommodations were clean and lovely. Felt as comfortable as being home. The hosts are so thoughtful in providing amenities and the cottage was cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway. Great location, too!

Everything you need is furnished. peaceful and yet close to restaurants and old time shopping center. TV and wifi were furnished and worked well. Highly recommend.

We found it to be very clean, well maintained and hospitable. Happy to have chosen Willie Mae’s cottage rather than a hotel chain! Would most certainly return if the opportunity presents itself.

Unfortunately, I messaged the day before we were scheduled to arrive to let the hostess know that we would not be able to use our booking because of the positive Covid test for my husband. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to the lovely cottage.

This was our second trip to Dripping Springs and our second time to stay at Willie Mae’s. Will loved it so much our first stay we knew exactly where we were staying our second trip.
I can’t say enough about our host. Fresh homemade bread every morning that’s delicious and very accommodating! We will be staying here again next year !

This charming cottage was perfect for us. The location was walking distance to all the cute shops in Dripping Springs. We will definitely stay here on a return trip.

This was such a delightful and relaxing place to stay. The cottage is built from rock that was part of the old smoke house. It is roomy and faces the old rock corral around a giant oak tree. I loved sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs with guest who came to visit. This is a historical old homestead with the "Dripping Springs" on the property. Downtown Dripping Springs is a short walk with charming shops but honestly, I enjoyed the cottage more!

When we got there everything was as they said it would be. The homemade bread(yum) was ready and waiting. You can tell the property is very well cared for. It really did exceed our expectations.
There is a such thing as positive energy and this place has it. It really set the tone for our Dripping Springs experience.

We were there for my daughters wedding and the Cottage was just perfect. Beautifully decorated and the morning breakfast loaf was a wonderful touch. I would stay there again. Blue Bonnets in bloom all over the property made it even prettier.

We were in town for a wedding and this was the perfect place for a party of 2. It has a nice comfy bed and bedside tables and rocking chairs. They thought of every amenity. I changed my outfit half a dozen times so it was nice to have a full length mirror and ironing board. For a small place, it feels very spacious witb high ceilings in the main space, a big, accessible roll-in shower, and even more outdoor space. The morning bread was a nice touch too. Check-in and out was simple, and you even have your own marked parking spot. Would definitely stay again!

What an excellent place for groups going to a wedding in Dripping Springs! Historical homes located in the heart of Dripping Springs close to everything! The house we stayed in was perfect for my husband and I. Very large rooms, delicious homemade breakfast breads everyday provided with yogurt, fruit, etc.
Our friends stayed in another larger house that was the original Post Office from the late 1800’s.

The Mercer Street location of the cottage is EASY walking distance to all the cool shops, food and drink.Also a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue so it was perfect.

Loves the history surrounding this location within the town’s historic site. Walked down to the dripping springs on the property that the town is named after. Loved the ambience of the cottage and the antique furnishings and especially the homemade bread every day!

Quaint Cottage with beautiful historical finishes. They thought of everything and more. Includes continental breakfast w/freshly made bread each day, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, tea, coffee, apple juice, soft drinks, etc. We cannot say enough about it. We will be going back.

Beautiful place
The property was exactly as described. This is our 3rd stay and we love it. We especially like all the touches from the past that remind us of simpler times. The bread is delicious and the owners are wonderful. I fully recommend this place. Thanks Charlie and Sherry for another great visit.
