The central location of the hotel was great. The rooms were well furnished, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the young women who handles the breakfast is an amazing worker who deserves all she earns and more. It was priced a bit higher than I would have considered reasonable until I realizes that the particular weekend we were there was one with numerous festivals and, ultimately, we were lucky to a get a quality hotel with this location at this (higher than normal) price.
The bathroom, though good sized, had no shelves or other places to store personal effects. It was also clear that the hotel was struggling with the number of festival attendees and understaffed, so often the front desk was unmanned and there was no one there to ask questions, But all staff we did see were great and, as I said above, the breakfast coordinator was just amazing.

Location was very hard to find with no vehicle access to the door. Although we selected for a hotel with parking the only parking was at nearby public car parks.

The plain entrance hides a beautiful Hotel with exceptional staff.
Our room was large and contained very comfortable beds. Slept very well each night of our stay.
Anita was very friendly and polite, ran an efficient Restaurant and Bar. The food was delicious, my steak cooked to perfection and enabled changes without question e.g. swopping chips for salad as well as adding items.
The Breakfast area also ran efficiently by very friendly staff. Both continental and cooked options could be utilised and replenished continually without waiting.
The Albert Hotel deserves a higher rating than 3 🌟's as the quality of both Staff and Accommodation is wonderful. I would highly recommend anyone this Hotel.
Would have preferred someone on Reception on arrival. But we rang the number provided and were greeted by a lovely young lady very quickly.

Location was tight in the middle of Kirkwall easy walks for cathedral and the palace. Room was well equipped with hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Brilliant
Only silly downside there could have been a wee shelf under mirror in bathroom for toothbrush ect.
Otherwise a perfect stay. Will be staying again soon :)
