Big Bear Lodge Retreat is completely as advertised. The property was easy to access, immaculate, and so, so homey! Plenty of room for our very large family, with something for everyone. And when they say the kitchen is fully stocked, they aren't kidding. We didn't need to worry about a thing. Games are available for every age group, and there is plenty of space to take walks, sit by the fire, or enjoy the hot tub. Definitely 5 stars, and the whole family agreed that we would come back again if we need a large gathering space again. Big thanks to Brian and Sigrid for being such wonderful, communicative hosts!

The house was just as described! Perfect setting and beautiful in and out! Very clean! The house was well stocked with spices and all the other things that you might need. I’ve never stayed in a VRBO where they provided coffee, sugar, and cream so it was much appreciated, even thou we provided our own. The host was very helpful and was easy to contact if we had any questions! We would recommend staying at this beautiful home!

This home is absolutely amazing! Very cozy and clean and stocked with everything that you could possibly need just incase you forgot to pack something from home. Lots of indoor and outdoor games to keep everyone entertained. The sound system outside was a huge hit for all when sitting in the hot tub or around the bonfire. The owners were always just a text away incase we needed anything. We just so happened to run out of fire wood after the first night and the owners had a whole truckload delivered within a couple hours and we were good to go for the rest of the weekend. We had such a nice time and made lots of great memories together this weekend and will definitely be back😊

Went up on a 5 man quad trip to Huron Trails. The trails were some of the best trails and the only thing that was more impressive was the property owner's attention to all the small details. We are not a fussy group but the house was well thought ou,clean love the hot tub and have to admit even enjoyed the robs and slippers that was provided! This is just one of the many small details that he provided! The group all commented that it was one of the most thoughtful house and host we have stayed at. If I had to find something to complain about it would be the low water pressure and some of the furniture looked good but didn't function as it should. I am splitting hairs with these complaints, and over-all was a perfect stay!

Perfect House layout. Could use some deep cleaning and replacement of a few kitchen items and shower curtain. Otherwise lovely home!

The property was exactly as listed, and was incredibly well appointed (plenty of blankets, towels, soaps, dishes, pots/pans and even Tupperware!). We had a group of ladies from our church that stayed for the weekend and every single one of us was blown away by this place. Brian was so helpful and communicative- we thought we had an issue with the fridge (ended up being an issue on our end) but he went out of his way to help us troubleshoot late into the evening. Don’t hesitate to book! We’re already hoping to come back next year!

This cabin was stocked with everything you need. My favorite part was how secluded the location is. My dog was able to run around in the backyard without any worries. The black stone griddle was so beneficial for the amount of people we had. Brian reached out and made sure that we checked in alright. I highly recommend!

Thank you for another great year. Everything was perfect as always. We couldn’t asked for a better weekend, or a better house, or a better host!! This house has everything you need for a great getaway and more. We can’t wait to book next years trip.

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful space. Lots of trees, a hot tub, a beautiful great room to hang out in. They thought of everything, including the coffee we forgot. We have decided we're going to stay again!

Our group of friends came up for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the home. We cooked a great dinner and sat by the fire pit after. This home is very comfortable and quiet. It allowed us to chill and relax. The only slight negative is you need to travel about 1 mile down an unpaved road to reach the house, we found if we did so at 30mph like the neighbors it was no big deal. We will return for golfing and cross country skiing

Nice house. Lots of games to play inside and out! Each bathroom was stocked with soaps, shampoo and whatever we needed. Plenty of room for large gatherings. The location was a little remote and on a dirt road, but that was not an issue for us. We did have to clean out the hot tub and the blackstone grill was super dirty when we went to use it, but overall it is a beautiful place and we enjoyed our stay!

A beautiful cabin for our families to get together! Everything was in working order, clean, and instructions very clear. Would for sure stay here again!

Our extended family wanted to have a vacation up north together and this cabin was perfect. We had enough sleeping space for my mom and myself and two siblings with our kids ranging in age from 5 years old to 20 years old. The kitchen was fully stocked, the fire place and hot tub were perfect for spending time together and there were a variety of yard, board, and card games to keep everyone busy. The host was great with communication and took care of any concerns.

Pretty much everything needed was in the cabin. The kids loved the TV/Movie room in the basement. Would love to play the golf course, or if we hadn’t have the days planned, go to the amusement park that were in walking distance for the kids next time!

This was our third stay, and it was once again the perfect place for our family get together. We golfed, played games, and used the hot tub. The large deck is our favorite place to relax and converse. The kitchen has everything needed to accommodate all of the over eating that takes place. Our family memories were rehashed as well as new ones made.

The house is absolutely GORGEOUS! The location is quiet and mostly remote. Our favorite part was looking up at the stars at night. Will definitely be booking again!

This place was overloaded with fun and everything you’ll need. We take cabin trips every year and this one was the best we’ve stayed at. More than enough space for our group of 10. The host was great with communication and quick with responses. I highly recommend this place for anybody looking for an outstanding getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The kitchen was fully stocked and it made food preparation easier. The beds were comfortable with plenty of sleeping space. I plan on renting again if we return to the area.

We stayed at this beautiful log home in January for an after-holiday quiet family getaway. Everything needed and more was available for making all our meals. The kids loved the hot tub. The multiple levels made it easy to spread out but still be together. The short drive to the quaint town of Mio and all the Amish businesses made for a fun outing. We will definitely recommend this vacation rental to any large group.

We had an amazing weekend enjoying the hot tub, sledding, games and food. The cabin had everything we needed and the beds and bedding were superb!

My family and I have been hosting a retreat every year for some time now, and without a doubt we all agreed that this was hands down…the best location yet! The owner of this property is incredibly generous in ensuring that the kitchen and pantry is stocked with items to compliment your eats and drinks from real plates and abundant silverware to rocks glasses and wine glasses for when it’s time to relax. New appliances, multiple decks of cards and board games and dvd’s and blue rays, extra bedding just in case, soft flip flops for getting back and forth from the bathroom to the hot tub without freezing off your toes, s’mores kits for the kiddos and kids at heart, fresh coffee selection and accruements for coffee lovers, well decorated for the holiday season, ample deck space accompanied by quality rockers and gliders…black stone and Weber grills for meat lovers and the layout was very inclusive. We would be cooking in the kitchen, playing board games in the dining room, and warming up next to the Christmas tree and the fire and because of the open floor layout…we were all together. When we needed space and privacy - we could retreat to one of several bedrooms in the basement, main floor, or the upper level. And for movie night…? There’s a screen with surround sound on the main floor and another with surround sound in the basement with a second fireplace and comfy couches to ensure a great experience for everyone. Highly recommend! And we’re definitely coming back!
