it all worked well and the staff even arranged a late check in possibility.
it’s next to a big pub so especially at the weekend the nights can get noisy. WiFi connection should be improved too. also no elevator.

beautiful home, well appointed.
next door to university frat house, was very noisy at night. in the morning, there was garbage everywhere. I understand that this is not the responsibility of the Madison but it had an impact on the stay.
6.0
it’s is well placed, convenient for the subway and the area around the university. It feels safe
Don’t stay here if you are bothered by noise. The adjacent bar is open till 2 am so loud music and sounds of jollity go on late into the night

location
nice old place.

The location is perfect. I was able to walk everywhere. The room was cozy and the bed and pillows very comfortable. I enjoyed being able to make tea in my room. The temperature of the room was perfect.
There was a lot of noise from the pub next door. Normally this would not be a problem because I wear ear plugs and sleep soundly. But the windows in my room didn't close completely so the noise was a bit worse than on my previous stays.
2.0
The room was perfectly fine, clean and safe to sleep. Probably good for student holidays.
The TV didn't work, cover charge to go to the bar advertised as part of the venue, staff non-existant and loud music playing till about 2am.

The location was very centric.
Communication and friendliness of the staff. Nobody told me that the office closes early and I had to call someone down from the pub, very moody girl, not welcoming at all. The room was extremely hot that I couldn’t sleep, the bed very uncomfortable, weird noises plus who puts a big mirror right infront of the bed!! Carpet could use a cleaning and also it was hard to find the #16 to check-in. Again better communication and better customer service.

Easy check-in. Reasonable rates. Clean room.
Extremely dated. Older Building between a Frat House (like the ones in movies) and a popular College student Pub.
Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights. Sunday was quiet. On Saturday Night (our room faced north, toward the Frat House, 30 feet away) the music, yelling, and bass pounding went on past 3am. That was not expected or enjoyed.

the culture/style (I think very Canadian, the ceramic shower - ceiling fan - analog tv but with bell digital receiver- the hole building with the paintings and the pub beside the hotel, wifi password was a bit other than told but u can guess it - Ethernet in the room didn’t work) nice and helpful hotel staff (though my pocket was stolen, but stupid drunken me left it in my room)
messing with the volume from the analog tv in combination with the bell receiver, wifi password/not working Ethernet

Location excellent as right on two subway lines and subway/ streetcar station right behind Mansion.
Housekeeping excellent.
Unique building Super clean. Character.
Staff don't mind the front desk too long but a simple phone call and someone is there in a minute.
Lots of signs to guide to help.
Pub next door serves simple breakfast good pub fair great staff. BUT Pub is packed on weekend night with college kids yet offer entertaining crowd watching. Egads if they are this country's future I'm moving : )
The noise of ajoining Pub of boisterous College kids on weekends.

The location was perfect. Close to subway station, parking, etc. Despite there being a busy pub next door it was pretty quiet.
Very dated, not very clean. Could not find staff. We had coffee and mugs but no hot water or kettle or coffee machine. Lol. The lighting was very dim and the ceiling fan didn't work. We needed the bathroom light to illuminate the main part of the room.
We made the best of it!

Very central location with easy access to public transportation to go downtown. Situated in a very pretty neighborhood with lots of nice houses. It was fun having a pub attached and late night food options.
It appears to be on a street that has a lot of fraternity/sorority houses for the university so the weekends are quite loud late into the night.

As a UofT alum, it was great to stay on Madison Avenue.
A guest should be aware this is next to the Madison Pub, and on Fraternity row - it will be a little loud Fri & Sat night.
Rooms a little musty, could do with an update.
5.0
Cleanliness and access to the metro subway. There are also shops and eateries nearby
This looks like a house converted into a hotel. The reception is in the next building, which is a pub. Reception operates only limited time. Please be prepared to wait for a long time if you arrive at odd times. We arrived in the morning around 9.30sh, and after waiting a long time, someone came in and allowed us to keep the luggage, as we arrived before the check-in time. Of course, that's OK, as they informed us that one could drop the luggage off before check-in time. But we had to wait on the roadside verge without knowing when the reception would be manned. If your room is upstairs, please be prepared to pull up the luggage, as there are no lifts. !!
The rooms are very small, no space to keep your luggage and move around. bathroom tiny hardly fits a person !!!.
They are collecting $50 deposit at the time of checkout, which they said that they would refund within four business days, but two weeks later, I am still waiting for the refund.
Nov 2022: Want to add that two months after the stay, still haven't received the $50 deposit collected!!

Very clean. Friendly attentive staff when they were there. Comfy bed.
Great location.
No breakfast, although breakfast was still on the website. No staff available until 11 AM on weekends. Very very noisy on weekend evenings until late.

My wife and I had a great stay here. We were going to show at the Velvet Underground so it was only a 15 minute Uber ride away which was nice. The room was clean and cozy. We had a king size bed in our room with a balcony which we couldn't enjoy since it was November but it was still nice to have.
So if youre staying here during the school year there are 2 Frat houses right beside so keep that in mind. My wife and I live in a small town in Northern Ontario so it was nice to hear all the partying going on made us feel young again lol. Also the room has 2 fans so you can just put those on to drown out the noise if that would be an issue for you. But honestly the noise wasn't an issue at all we didn't even notice once we were asleep, I know other people have complained but it really didn't bother us and wasn't a factor at all. Overall we had a great stay and would have no problem staying here again. You cant go wrong for the value.

Victorian style boutique hotel in excellent location. Stay should have a better experience in other floor rooms than the one assigned to me.
My room in the basement smelled like very old rotten clothing. Barely slept with mask on and I did not stay for long during the day.

The location is great for anyone looking to attend events at the U of T campus.
Despite a good location, the Manor is surrounded by several Frat houses and so expect partying/loud noises into the night. The cost per night is a bit outrageous considering the state of the room we stayed in. CRT television that did not work, wifi did not connect , and to top it all off, when we stepped foot into our room (upon checking in) it was 90 degrees Farenheit (I guess someone mistakenly set the thermostat to heat?). The room was clean at least. In addition to this, when we arrived the girl at the front desk looked like she had no idea how to use the interac machine to charge my credit card which took numerous tries to get right. She also did not give us any information as to check-out procedures. Because of this, we nearly missed our train out of the city (check-out requires guests to just leave their cards in their room).

Hotel advertised air conditioning in rooms and when I arrived there was a fan in veining and stand alone fan and temperature of room was 84 degrees or above in a day where the temperature was above 30 degrees Outside besides this being unbearable I have asthma which it triggered. When I arrived there was blood in the bathroom wall which I had to clean off and the television also went fuzzy after trying to view it. We had to remain outside the hotel for the majority of the evening as the aircon did not work and when I returned to sleep the mites on the bed ware but my skin and I had a rash on my neck. I attempted to calm the front desk Re these issues however no answer. Check in was at the pub next door and I had to call the hotel to navigate my way around as there was no service or staff in hotel or showing me to my room. Which was difficult to find. No ice machines either or fridge. Terrible and uncomfortable experience for a vacation get away and refund requested.

This property is in an excellent location just down the street from the Spadina metro station and a 5 minute walk from restaurants. The room was also clean and comfortable! Friendly staff!
The check in process was a bit confusing. Thankfully we ran into another guest that told us where the check in office was located.

The staff was excellent and very responsive to my needs. I loved the big room and the big french doors I could open when the weather was warm. The location was excellent and I had an overall lovely stay.

The room was very noisy as it was right next to a very noisy and lively pub. we did not know about this and when we asked to change the room this was not possible.
