Very friendly staff. Thank you.
The lift and reception look old and need demodulation.

Location. Homey vibe. Friendly staff
Noise of local bars at night.

It is located right next to the Riverwalk.
This is a timeshare. I don't remember this being mentioned in the description. They WILL try to sell it to you! I was here for a work conference. My plane was late and they take you to the second floor to sell you a timeshare. They did let me go when I told them I was already late. I did NOT want to be sold anything. There is no outside access to the Riverwalk from the hotel. You have to go around the building. It is VERY loud here. You can hear street noise day and night.

*SCAM ALERT*, this is not a hotel, just a timeshare selling scam. We were tricked into paying a 'refundable $40.00' fee for free vouchers by the conceirge, but because we refused to attend their sales presentation, we were denied the vouchers and they refused to refund our $40.00. To make matters worse, the boiler broke so the building was without hot water for 2 of our 3 day stay. If you enjoy bait and switch tactics, wasting a day listening to timeshare sales pitches, and come from a third world country that considers hot water an unnecessary luxury, Wyndam has a room for you.

Riverwalk was why I booked it, and because the kitchen
There is NO parking ( public at the end of the block ) There is also NO loading zone, you basically stop in the street to unload. There are a few spots across the street but trucks use them. If arriving by car just pull to front door, put your 4 ways on. It is not a busy street. We had alot of stuff, so this was inconvenient, but manageable.

the location was next to the river. Staff was helpful
the entrance is not practical. there is no where to park to offload. the suite set up was not feasible. toilet kept running and one floor hade people smoking mar-iguana. Terrible smell.

The location was perfect for our activities. the rooms were well appointed and very comfortable.
the entrance and lobby are quite small and a bit awkward when guests are checking in and others are trying to use the elevator.

The main entrance is a bit seedy looking and reception area is quite small.

The position of this property is amazing and our room was perfect. We were traveling with our son, his wife and daughter and the space was just what we needed.

The location was amazing, although the random one room entrance on a side street was a little odd. Room was well appointed and comfy.
The noise outside very late at night was little aggravating. I know the Riverwalk is busy, but after midnight they need to tone it down. Not the hotels fault, they even provided ear plugs. Just wish people could be more respectful .

Nice rooms, VERY friendly staff
It was extremely loud until about 2 am, the hotel provided ear plugs, but that did not help much, so impossible to get a good night of sleep. The bar across the Riverwalk was right outside our window, and the noise comes in like you are standing in the bar.
Also, booking.com does not mention that this is a time share property, so they will try to sell you a time share from the moment you walk in. There is no check in, go to your room, relax. You have to go to the concierge lounge, where they tried to sell me stuff for 30 minutes before I could go to my room. While the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, that’s not why I was there, and I had no desire to buy anything.

the pictures of the room in booking is misleading. the room that they show in the pictures is not available and they dont even try to compensate guest for the mistake. the hallways were smelling like weed and I was with family. it was very bad experience.

Location next to riverwalk with short walk to the Alamo was nice.
Booked a 2 bedroom suite for 5 people on booking.com. When we arrived, they gave us a 1 bedroom. When I came back down to let them know they put us in the wrong room, it was a 1.5+ hour ordeal where they claimed the 3rd party (booking.com) messed up and we had to work it out with them. Multiple calls to the front desk person’s supervisor led to no resolution. Finally after I called booking’s customer service, booking got them to fix the error on their side and give us the 2 bedroom we’d reserved. Frustrating part was they had the two bedroom available and didn’t want to help, even after showing them the two bedroom confirmation e-mail and explaining multiple times that they’d confirmed our booking for 5 people, which is clearly too many for the 1 bed + couch in the 1 bedroom. I would avoid this hotel if booking through a 3rd party, since they showed no interest in figuring out if the problem was on their end (and it was).

Only thing I would recommend is more seating in the living room.

The room was amazing and much more space than we thought it was going to be. The large balcony overlooking the Riverwalk was great.
We didn’t like that there was no direct parking. Finding the hotel was a little difficult bc there was no pavilion or sing marking the front entrance. The first room where we checked in was very small and got congested quickly. After checking in, we were sent up to a different room on the second floor where we waited for almost 2 hours before being given keys to our room. Even though the hotel called us to confirm our arrival time, our room was not ready for a couple of hours after we arrived. We had travelled over 6 hours in the car with 2 small children. We all needed to go freshen up before we went on the town. This was impossible to do without being in our room and going through our luggage to get essentials to freshen up.
We didn’t like that there was not a large main lobby or place to sit and wait.
Also, we are HUGE coffee drinkers. A lobby with fresh coffee brewing daily would have been a plus. We were only able to brew one pot of coffee in our room as we were only given 1 bag of coffee grounds. So we had to walk to coffee shops daily instead of being able to enjoy coffee in our room as we were getting ready.

Every front desk agent was lovely. Pleasant and light-hearted. Especially Belen! She can make magic! Belen and her supervisor know the true meaning of Customer Service! The hotel is about 100 years old but has been updated. The interior walls are intriguing. There is an elevator. I must caution you about the rooms with the spiral staircase. The stais are steep and many. If you are fit, you'll be rewarded with a balcony!
Nothing. Absolutely nothing! I'll be back.

The location near an elevator to the riverwalk and right over Landry's Sea Food House was perfect. Our concierge, Jose Garcia, made our #60 anniversary reservations for dinner at the Tower of Americas and saw to our every need while we were there including any and all directions to the city attractions.
Perhaps a longer stay.
