About this farm stay rental
The Evergreen Ranch House, by Arington Adventures, offers a unique, beautiful and secluded retreat. Located off the beaten path, on a 600 acre award winning tree farm, in South Central Wisconsin. The home offers 6 luxury appointed bedrooms, and 4 full bathrooms. It accommodates 14 people comfortably. The Evergreen Ranch, in a previous life, was home to a thriving horse ranch. We are still able to accommodate several horses in an adjoining barn and paddock during your stay. (ask about our rate for horse boarding) A large private backyard offers the perfect setting for bird watching, bocce ball, or singing songs around a fire. The property is 5 miles from downtown Cambridge and 25 miles to the Capitol Square in downtown Madison. Cambridge, Wisconsin, is one of the best kept secrets in the state, for outdoor recreational opportunities. In fact, one of the most technical single-track off-road mountain bike trails is located just south of Cambridge, in CamRock Park. CamRock Park also offers hiking, birding, and in the winter, cross county skiing and sledding. Cambridge is also home to Lake Ripley, a wonderful lake, perfect for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or simply a day of swimming and relaxation on the beach. Downtown there are specialty shops, multiple restaurants, coffee shops, and the Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Madison, home of the UW Badgers, and one of the greatest Farmers' Markets around, is a short 20 minutes away from the property. The restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and outdoor experiences are endless. Or, spend a day at the water parks in Wisconsin Dells (1 hour drive); or shop 'til you drop in Chicago (2 hour drive), and then return to the Evergreen Ranch to rest and recharge. We love this corner of Wisconsin: the peacefulness of a rural home, with urban amenities only a short driving distance away. You'll be so happy and at home here, you may decide to extend your stay. Best week ever for our exceeded family of 11. Lots of family fun. The house is the absolute best vrbo we have ever stayed in. Super clean, fully stocked, and wonderfully decorated for the holidays. The goats and hot tub were our favorites. Grandma said to say , "It has the Grandma stamp of approval." Thank you so much. So many memories made.

This was our second time staying at the house. It is exceptional. Very clean with great amenities, including large firepit area, hot tub, wifi, etc. The property is beautiful with walking trails and it's very secluded. There is virtually no noise from any road traffic. Only a 25-30 minute drive to downtown Madison. I highly recommend renting this property for a long weekend or longer.

We had such an incredible time here, we never wanted to leave. The highlight of the trip was Otto, the barn cat that wanders around. We all very quickly fell in love with him and we miss him already!
The property was very well taken care of inside and out. You can tell that the owners take pride in this property. We had the most relaxing time, everything was beyond perfect. I truly hope we get an occasion to come back and stay again!

My sisters and i gathered here for our annual bonding weekend. We enjoyed the quiet rural setting that was still accessible to local activities. We found the house very well equiped, and especially appreciated the very well equipped kitchen. Thank you for your attention to detail.

We came to Madison for the Crossfit Games and we had as large group because my son was competing. This place was great. We loved the location (20 minutes away), and the peaceful farming area, The house is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable as well. It was a great stay. Thank you!

You have only to read the many glowing reviews to get a sense of what this exceptional home offers. We were a group of 6 couples, college friends gathering for a reunion. This open, light-filled, spacious, beautifully decorated, and amenity-rich home offered privacy and comfort for all, along with multiple inviting indoor and outdoor spaces for conversation, relaxation, sharing meals, long walks and play. The home overlooks acres and acres of fields and woodlands, and you are invited to roam to your hearts' content, Rachel and Joe were readily available, but they seem to have anticipated and generously planned for every possible need we could have. Photos just can't begin to do justice to this stunning retreat. It couldn't possibly have been better!

Family of 8 adults and 4 children travelled to rural Wisconsin, east of Madison, for a weeklong reunion. The Evergreen Ranch is located in a secluded area on a small hill with a farm yard just below. We were surprised and pleased with the accommodations, which include 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, nice kitchen and eating areas, several indoor and outdoor gathering areas with activity items provided, a hot tub, nearby hiking trails, and close proximity to Madison with a number of university town activities. The highlight, particularly for the children, was feeding baby goats with Rachel, who is the caretaker.
As a family, we have been to a number of vacation rentals. This is the first one to which we may schedule a repeat vacation in the future. Thank you to Joe Arrington and Rachel for providing a great spot and experience.

This destination could not have been more perfect for our family gathering. The house - which is spacious, tastefully decorated, and filled with natural light - sits on the gorgeous rolling hills of a 600+ acre sustainable tree farm. Three generations of family had endless fun hiking the trails, playing with the baby goats, relaxing in the hot tub, and sharing meals on the gorgeous wrap-around porch. The house is very clean and well cared for; we found every amenity we could have needed and enjoyed playing ping pong in the garage and board games in the house. The kitchen is very well stocked and incredibly clean. Rachel, the property manager, is very kind and very responsive. She has thought of everything - including a binder full of information about local activities and eateries. We visited the Fort Atkinson famers market as well as local bike trails. This property offers that home-away-from-home feel that is hard to find in a rental. We definitely plan to return!

We loved everything about this house! It was perfect for our extended family that included several grandparents. 2 main level bedrooms helped with those with some limited mobility. We will definitely return when in the area!

My family and I recently stayed at this property as a getaway from Chicago. From the onset, the check in process was smooth and the house was so cozy and clean! The house is spacious and decorated impeccably! The owners truly have thought of everything from snacks to toothbrushes to make you feel like you’re in a home away from home. This home is stunningly beautiful and thoughtfully organized. We celebrated an early Christmas with our 96 year old father with the entire family and everyone was extremely impressed with this place. We could not have been more happy and our grandchildren loved feeding the goats. We hope to come back many times in the future!

The property manager was incredibly accessible and flexible, helping me extend our stay when I realized I booked the wrong dates without any issues, then getting the house ready earlier than anticipated.
The actual property is incredible — beautiful house, beautiful outdoor space, well-stocked kitchen, very clean and absolutely enormous, lots of personal touches, just in general a home away from home. It was an easy drive to Madison. The goats were also a highlight of our stay!
We would give this VRBO our highest recommendation, it’s probably the nicest place we’ve ever stayed when traveling! And I can’t say enough wonderful things about the property manager and everything she helped us with.

There really are no words to describe how amazing our time at this farmhouse has been. All communication has been classy, kind, and professional. From the moment we drove on to the property, we knew this was going to be amazing. The house was spotless, stocked with so many items to make us feel as though they had thought about everything. The decor and comfort of the home made every day feel cozy and welcoming. The bonus of the farm animals for our enjoyment was an added blessing. There are no stars high enough to rate our stay. We hope to enjoy this property again someday.

We have just gotten from our 2nd stay at this property. Our family just got back. We have 7 adults & 4 grandchildren. We like this place partly because of all the space inside and out. There are 6 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms. There's a huge yard with a fireplace, hot tub and golf Frisbee outside. There are many provisions and everything is meticulously clean and maintained. A lot of extras are offered that are so nice. Also it's close to Madison.

Goats, Lambs & Hawks
On our our second visit the the Evergreen Ranch (Goathouse to the family) we again had a wonderful time
Sheep were in the pasture in addition to the goats from last time and were a big hit with our kids and grandkids. In addition, there were 3 young hawks playing in the evergreens that border the opposite side of the house.
The location is within reach of Madison but actually spent more time in the neighboring towns and really enjoyed the Midwest Fire Fest in Cambridge.

Spacious ranch, wonderful kitchen, nearby goats a big draw to our kids
We stayed as a family group of 36 in all three Arington Farms properties, and this was a very comfortable house to host everyone from my 87yr old parents to the 3 yr old granddaughter. A beautiful property, with an excellent kitchen (which produced many meals and shared cups of coffee), beautiful outdoor spaces (including the very appealing goat farm), numerous paths thru the woods to the other two properties. And very comfortable sleeping arrangements, with plenty of bathrooms for our large group. Ground level master BR esp helpful for my dad w Parkinson’s.

Warm & Welcoming
The home was beyond our expectations: the house was beautiful and the space thoughtful and relaxing. We enjoyed the games, hot tub, bonfire, the sheep and goats, the trails....the property was stunning and the property manager, Rachel, was both friendly and helpful. Perfect stay for 4 generations
Everything is covered here. Games and age appropriate bedroom situation for the little ones, 1st floor accessible accessible accommodations for the old folks. There was so much to do and little surprises and nice touches at every corner. It was a perfect day and I would definitely return again and recommend this for anybody.. Rachel and Joe are extremely responsive and very nice people

Everything is exactly as described if not better, and just close enough to Madison for convenience while getting a vacation in the country. They thought of everything.
What a stunning home! It was the perfect place to chill between wedding events. Our adult children and grandchildren traveled from 4 states to come together for the weekend wedding festivities for our son. The grandchildren loved the goats and sidewalk chalk. They had plenty of room to run. The adults loved the fire pit and hot tub. And this mother of the groom loved all the attention to detail and extra amenities that made this home a place to relax. This is a simply wonderful house and suited our siblings and spouses with ease. Large very well equipped kitchen with counter seats, plus one large table for eight and another for four plus meant we could laugh all through each delicious meal. Plenty of comfy seating in the larger living room plus more in the sunroom and most bedrooms meant we could get together as sub groups or even have peace and quiet to ourselves. Just a gorgeous house in a gorgeous landscape of glacial drumlins and cams and kettles., green grass trees, birds, birds, birds and deer. Wonderful capacious hot tub was welcome in the cool May afternoons and evenings. Lots of games to play - scrabble was missing a few letters but we had a number of great games with it. Unlike so many rentals, there were reading lamps for our reading family and books for child and adult alike. My husband and I found that nearby trails and in Cambridge mad for fabulous birding. After a childhood and early adulthood in Wisconsin and Illinois, I finally saw the remarkable Prothonotary Warbler that I have admired for 50 years in my Birds of America book form college. Also Yellow warblers, Audubons, Yellowthroats, Sand hill cranes, Bald Eagles, Killdeer, White-throated sparrows, goofy Canada geese, a Wood Duck, etc. etc.
In addition, the house provided a lovely setting for planning a memorial for our late mother (and our Dad and sister lost long ago) as we sorted through journals and photos and documents with our glasses of wine or Scotch in the lovely living room. My sister and I did a lot of watercolor painting in that wonderland where our mother would have done had she been there. We missed the goats (too early in the spring) which we had looked forward to. We grew up with goats in the pasture and kid goats in the kitchen. Thank you so much for this lovely trip. Hope to see the goats next time.
