It was like stepping back in time. Authentic atmosphere was warm and inviting, well kept but not pretentious. So much to do on the grounds and in the game parlor, great escape from TV.
Wish I could have spent more time enjoying the facility's, our stay was just an overnight stop,

Absolutely beautiful property!

Didn’t eat. But also didn’t smell a thing. There was no info given as to how or where you get breakfast or what was offered.
The facility could be amazing. I understand they are trying to keep the old resort vibe going but that doesn’t mean that the mattresses and beds should be ancient as well. The beds were listed as double beds, they are two twin size beds that a squeak could be heard from miles away. The rooms are barely furnished. The add calls for a private bathroom but it’s actually just three separate bathrooms down the hall with a door lock that I guess means they are private. Much of the decking and facilities need to be maintained. We stayed in the hotel and with those issues we would never come back. We did not stay in the cabins but based on pricing and the facility as a whole they seem to be way overpriced as well. The owners need to put money back into this facility…

The grounds are so beautiful! Trees, flowers, fountain!!!
At first, worried about no air conditioning and spotty internet coverage, once we got used to it, it was one of the most pleasant places to be!!

Great location! We enjoyed the view of the lake.
Was hot. No a/c. Had to run a fan all night to sleep. Had some very noisy neighbors who partied until about midnight; music, fireworks, left their empty cans and water bottles down by the beach.

Quiet. Rustic charm. Friendly staff. Lovely veranda and grounds. Access to water toys. Historic. Easy access to Leland and Suttons bay.

I loved the quaint cabin with everything you could want! It felt like you were right at home just with a more beautiful lakefront view!

Very quiet
Historic hotel which I did not realize when I booked. Very sparse 3rd floor room. One overhead bright light and 1 small table lamp. No TV, phone or clock

location was amazing!
Difficulty getting Wifi to work when trying to communicate with expected guests traveling in from out of town.

love that this property is a 4 generation endeavor. The charm from when it first began is apparent throughout the property.
As expected - it’s an older property so no air in really stifling heat could be an issue for some.

It was a very beautiful property. I’m sure once upon a time it was amazing. the wrap around porch and the views were amazing.
The only thing is there is no air conditioning and you probably don’t need it normally but the days we were there it was near 90. We made due with fans.

Lovely grounds with direct access to Lake Leelanau. Row boats were available at no cost. Swimming was nice at the small beach area. The cottages were authentic 1920s with little comfort but lots of charm. Nice screened in porch and outdoor seating.
Hotel guests left towels, toys and swim gear at the beach which made it look very unwelcoming. The hotel staff was made aware of the situation, but nothing was done about it. For the price per night it would be nice if all guests were made to feel welcome not only larger family gatherings.

Such a great place to spend a romantic weekend or bring the whole family. Initially we had planned on this place just being a place to hang our heads while spending most of our time at the bay or Fishtown but we liked it so much we picked up some groceries and made a romantic dinner and stayed the whole afternoon and evening,
There wasnt really anything I didn't like. The breakfast food truck was closed because the owner didn't show up. That was a little disappointing because it was included in the cost.

The view was incredible. I liked the feel that I was transported back in time. The simplicity and beauty was what set this place apart from the others. The view of the water and the trees, the quiet surroundings made it relaxing.
The staff, (not everyone) made me feel uncomfortable. The entrance and exit was confusing so I waited and watched another car and went the way I saw hat car going, which turned out to be the wrong way. The staff on the go carts had me pull over and we’re not kind about explaining what I did wrong. Then another older staff member came up to the car window and I felt like a child that was in trouble. Then after I came back to the cottage, I had a blockade next to where I was parking. I felt like this was passive aggressive and like I was being punished. It remained there as a reminder of shame until the end of my stay.
