Reason for booking was indoor pool, which turned out to be open to the elements and therefore too cold to use. No onsite breakfast facility.

Denis, the Manager just goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. He knows every one of his guests by name and is so very warm and welcoming. Best personalised customer service I have EVER encountered in a hotel. He catered to our request for additional and firm pillows, and went so far as to buy my 10 yo daughter a cake and give her a free soft drink. When we returned by Uber at the end of a long day out, Denis was there to greet us. When we were about to walk out in the rain, Denis loaned us his big umbrella. He is seriously the Hotel Manager from Heaven. He just looks after and thinks of everything to make your stay enjoyable. The personalised service is like nothing I have ever encountered and we will definitely be back to stay the next time we are in Melbourne. Thank you Denis.

Not much. The room could have slightly better lighting, and bigger coffee cups, but seriously, everything was amazing. The Indian restaurant downstairs wasn't great and I was sick the next day from eating it.

Beautiful grand property in the heart of Melbourne. Staff were so accommodating and were able to help with extra things required by us. Highly recommend

The room was really big and equipped with necessary electronics (e.g. fridge, lau dry machine) for lon-term stay. The hotel has a pool, and it was comfortable to use it. The hotel is close to a big station.

It was quite Coldingham the room (I was there in winter ) and one couldn't change the temperature

we loved the grand old world charm of the facade , the large rooms with soaring high ceilings , the toasty bubbles of the spa , very comfortable king size beds , and the historic railway connection .
