A beautifully restored Georgian house to create a boutique hotel.
Loved the art and the whiskey tasting room.
Hotel breakfast was healthy and delicious.
No negatives.

Exactly what I needed to start a tour
of Scotland. Comfortable bed, well
appointed, and generous en-suite
facilities. Staff was attentive and
kind. Interesting art work and a
charming Georgian townhouse in a
great location to access New Town
and Leith. Wonderful views from
Calton Hill
Open doors and windows meant that smoke from anyone smoking on a fire escape or in back garden came right back into the hotel. Not a biggie, just had to close my windows when I would have preferred a breeze.

Artsy ambiance of the hotel
Friendly staff
Whisky tasting with Tony
Located in a quiet area
It's still near the city center, you can walk (maybe 10min), or take a bus (5 min walk bus stop) if you'd like to visit the central area

Excelente hotel con detalles de 10 y un desayuno excepcional
Falta de ascensor aunque entiendo que en complicado ponerlo en una casa georgina. A nosotros no nos importó

Not far from city center but very quiet. Very nice owners.

Location is superb, close to anywhere you need to get to (Royal Mile, Old Town, Leith, Stockbridge), but with enough distance that it's peaceful at night time. Received such a warm welcome from all of the team, great breakfast, filled with artwork, and a lovely vibe about the place.
Nothing to complain about but if you are not comfortable with stairs, then you might want to request a room on one of the lower levels.

Beautiful boutique hotel, excellent decor and art work throughout and many nice extra touches in the room. Funky bar, open 24hrs with a fabulous selection of Whiskey!
Quiet location and yet a short walk to restaurants.

A beautifully appointed room in a lovely hotel with excellent breakfast, in walking distance of many Edinburgh sites and not far from Waverley station in an historic terrace of grand townhouses.
Not the hotel’s fault but beware it is hilly around here (especially for those used to flat lands of East Anglia!)

I loved everything. Location (top of Calton Hill) was fabulous and street and property were very charming. The hotel is also an art gallery so it truly was a boutique hotel (and absolutely delightful) I enjoyed both breakfast (some of the best smoked salmon I had in Scotland) and snacks/drinks in the hotel bar. And most importantly - the staff were wonderful and welcoming. I had travel issues on my way there and they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. A very high recommend!
Nothing! I wish I could have stayed longer

A most excellent stay! Beautiful room and hotel in a quiet yet convenient location for exploring city. Breakfast was superb. Above all, the service was fantastic: knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We’d definitely recommend the whisky tasting experience, highly enjoyable.

Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel with character.
Room felt exceptionally small, even for a single. My feet were against the wall and I could barely open my suitcase. Also, the room description when I booked mentioned a bathrobe, but there was none. There was coffee and hot chocolate but I missed some teabags. Full breakfast options only began at 8am, which seems a little late for someone having to catch a flight, for example.

We loved this hotel. The staff were young, friendly and helpful. The room was a self-contained apartment that was perfect after a full day of walking up and down the hills of Edinburgh. The breakfasts were excellent and hearty. The colorful artwork around the hotel made it a vibrant and interesting experience. For us the hotel was located perfectly at the base of Calton Hill and in a quiet location but some people may find it a bit far from the main attractions in Edinburgh.
The shades in the bedroom were a bit difficult to close but other than that everything was great.

Location is perfect. On a lovely quiet street but a very short walk to the centre. Was just around the corner from the theatre. Staff were very friendly & the manager was welcoming & entertaining to talk to & gave interesting info regarding the hotel, its art work & whisky. Clearly knows his stuff. Decor was quirky with lots of artwork to look at & discuss. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order & tasty.
Partly due to me not checking things out but we ended up on the 3rd floor which was a challenge for 2 elderly women friends. They couldn’t swap our room on the first night but did offer to the next day. They do not have a lift due to building restrictions. Wouldn’t probably stay if we had to park a car. Could be parked outside the hotel but would cost extra.

Location was excellent. Away from the hustle and bustle of the centre, nevertheless very quick to walk to the centre.
Breakfast was superb.
Rooms could have been a little more spacious.
