Serene and homely experience. The host was warm, exceptionally friendly. Facility was kept very clean. Good breakfast also. I would return here a thousand times.

We gave John Amis our feedback verbally before we left. We also helped them with information on a Solar PV System based on our own experiences & knowledge of our 10kVA Inverter with 30kWh battery for which they were most grateful. Lovely people.

The location was perfect for our requirements, being situated on a major local road. In spite of this there was no disturbing traffic noise. John, our host, was very helpful and was a constant but unobtrusive presence. This added to the feeling that the venue is safe and secure. Breakfasts we're great with the crispiest bacon I have had in years!

There was absolutely nothing that spoiled our stay although there were some signs of aging decor.

Breakfast is great. The service is always good. There is cereal, juice, tea or coffee, you get offered a choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, everything a good South African breakfast offers.

There are many choices in this general area but this was one of the best locations. John, the host, is very friendly and relaxed and runs a beautiful property. The rooms are a good size with decent size en-suite. Excellent cleanliness. The breakfast is superb and the breakfast setting delightful with a spacious raised patio enjoy the warm summer mornings. The security is very good with parking onsite. The wifi is convenient. Outstandingly good quality for money.

Really, not even the slightest criticism. Simply a 5 star ++ stay. I’ll highly recommend to British or really any travellers via word of mouth. Nice option for business travellers also.

This property was central to what I wanted to do in Johannesburg, and host John was especially helpful in getting me around to accomplishing my goals in the day (two nights) I had allotted. Nicely appointed gardens with the cityscape in the distance, property is on a delightful treelined street which is even walkable (1-2K) to good dinner choices. Quiet environment, very restful, enjoyed easy conversation with other guests. Looked like about 5 guest rooms, so was not crowded. Good breakfast choices and guests could compare notes in comfortable surroundings. John made my airport transfers easy and accommodated my local transportation needs. After seeing other Johannesburg areas, I'd really recommend this property.

Admittedly, Johannesburg could be a tough place to visit. I wouldn't walk downtown, but I was totally comfortable walking in the patrolled area in which this property is located. It's a beautiful street. If someone wanted to amp up their safety feeling, Uber is available.

Where to start. From my first contact with John to the end of my stay everything was perfect. John went out of his way to help and provide information with everything I asked of him over all of my e mails The room was great, balcony overlooking the well kep garden, comfy bed, fast WiFi, cleanliness, bathroom, all perfect The breakfast could have fed a small army, loads of choices and as much as you want John picked me up from the airport and dropped me off at some locations, nothing was too much trouble We had some great conversations, the list is endless, just book it and see for yourself, trust me you won’t be disappointed

Excellent. I was in SA on family business. This was a perfect place for me. The room was great, bigger than I expected, and well equipped. Breakfast was superb. And the hosts were lovely. There was secure parking outside for the rental car, and it was convenient for Bedfordview, with easy access to the motorways. The gardens and pool looked inviting but mid winter is not the time. All in all, excellent and highly recommended.
