Absolutely gorgeous position and views beneath the Simonsberg Mntn. We had room no 6 –upstairs on the corner - view from inside little lounge and mini side patio gorgeous. Amazing staff. So friendly and helpful. Delish breakfasts. Zorgvliet - just next door (drive or walk there) for dinner - lovely. Such a great base to explore both Stellies and Franshhoek. Would def stay again and have already recommended to many friends.
If they could
do solar plus inverter and batteries for back up in loadshedding that would be amazing.

Best view in Stellenbosch. Comfortable, sizeable room (6). Just a relaxing, wonderful stay. The Manager (Michael) was attentive to all our needs.
Loadshedding still affects the property and experience negatively. Hopefully a generator/full solar is on the horizon.

This is both an outstanding lodge with exemplary staff!! This one of our truly best stays in all of our travels!! The room with its view of the vineyards and mountains along with the bathroom with its rain shower and large tub was awesome!! The staff was without a doubt the finest ever - ever present when needed for directions, suggestions of places to eat/see and the breakfasts were divine!!
Not one thing!! Even with the rolling blackouts we were always notified the day before of the affected times and each room had battery back ups.

The location of the lodge within the farms
The city center is very near
The electricity shutdown 2times in the day which is inconvenient to the guests so the hotel need extra electric backup generator

We loved our stay at the Banhoek Lodge.
The staff is lovely and the lodge is set up in the middle of vineyards.
The breakfast is delicious and the rooms have a beautiful view.
It's a nice location to explore winelands in Stellenbosch & Franschoek.

Views all around the property are stunning. Large big bedrooms with floor to ceiling windows meant that we could truly appreciate the gorgeous landscape.
The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Breakfast was very nice.
There were frequent power cuts during our stay. We appreciate that this is unfortunately the case across the whole of SA. However given the price of this hotel we assumed that they would have put in measures to address this issue.

Everything! Felt like I was on a honeymoon. Certainly in my top two places I’ve stayed in the region. Loved it. Wished I had stayed longer.

The location of the hotel is incredible- stunning views of the mountains and vineyards with a very restful, peaceful atmosphere.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The breakfast served was delicious although it might have been nice to have a slightly larger selection of options such as some pastries. However it is a cozy hotel with only several rooms so I do understand not wanting to waste food by having a huge buffet for only a select number of guests. The cooked breakfast was excellent and the fruits and cold foods that were available from the buffet were lovely.
As mentioned above the included breakfast buffet was slightly limited in options but everything that was served was delicious.

Enjoy the suite for a very low price compared to other places in the wine region, outstanding view on the vineyards/mountains

The bath in the suite, combined with the view was incredible. Pamper yourself with the 3,5 hour spa treatment!! We felt reborn.
During our stay there was a quite stormy/windy night, and the wind on the roof and windows were quite loud. Little sleep that night because of it.
