First off, the rooms are beautiful. Atmospheric but with superb housekeeping and modern facilities. Room 7, where I stayed on first floor, had a lovely tiny room down a couple of steps off the bedroom that was perfect for a relaxing seat after a day's touring about. A little bonus. Also a great coffee machine both in the room and at breakfast. The breakfasts were well-stocked and of decent quality and not as hilariously chaotic as some others I experienced on the trip. Clientele was mixed by nationality, which I like, so Americans, Japanese, Germans and Scandinavians. I ate at the hotel Italian restaurant one evening and the parmigiana di melanzane was absolutely delicious. Tiramisu was a bit choked by cocoa powder but a tremendously huge portion. The location is pretty good, right in the Old Town if that is what you're looking for. I got the tram to the edge of the Old Town from the bus station but I'd advise you just to get a taxi through the Bolt app. They are good value, and that's certainly how I got back to the bus station.

I would argue CRU Hotel is a restaurant with rooms. I never really interacted with any staff in my four nights there, and those when I did weren't particularly helpful. Others mentioned super-friendly and attentive but that definitely was not my experience. However I'm quite self-sufficient, and Livonians don't seem as committed to customer service as other parts of Europe and the US. However, my first night the restaurant was closed so it was perfect place to stay. Calm, relaxed and quiet. Second night, it was open. So there was restaurant music blaring outside my window (ironic as the outside restaurant wasn't open), kitchen staff yelling to each other at breaks, bins being rolled about. I eventually had to go down at 10pm and ask them to turn down the outside music (erstaz Italian) as I had a really early ferry the next day - which to their credit they did, and fairly quickly. When I ate in the restaurant, the service was so grudging. I don't know if it was because I was a hotel resident, or if I was eating alone and taking up a table, but they hummed and hawed and eventually gave me a strict one-hour time limit.

Everything was lovely. We had no complaints.

L'emplacement superbe, le confort du lit 2m de large, le petit dejeuner.

L'exiguïté de la chambre..pas 18 m2 comme annoncé mais 14 au maximum (chambre nos° 5). Très inconfortable par sa petitesse. A noter également l'escalier raide pour monter les bagages qu'il serait bon de souligner dans votre annonce : sans problème quand vous avez 30 ans mais passé 70ans c'est un souci. Aussi pas de prise près du lit, et pas de lumière sur un côté du lit.
