The food was truly incredible. And the bed was top notch. Good blackout curtains too and a good checkout time meant we were very rested when we left.
There were stains on the cream carpet (almost inevitable i know, but probably a poor carpet selection for a hotel) and the decorating could do with a touch more detail and a spruce up (cracks in the caulking and lumps in the paintwork), yet its an old building so to be expected i guess.

Staff at breakfast attentive and welcoming
Room clean and tidy
At check-in not acknowledged by receptionist who was on the phone for a long time and completely ignored us
Then there was confusion over our room saying one room was booked without breakfast when both booked at same time
Really put our backs up and was disappointing

Staff where lovely but need training
at reception the night Porter didn’t know where our rooms where or time of breakfast and behind the bar very inexperienced
We weren’t told of a wedding when booking ,
Music and noise until 1am , paper towels and drink bottles in corridors
We are no party poopers but like to relax after a busy day
Cleaner hoovering and banging doors at 07.30 on Sunday Morning not good enough really
