Rooms are a decent size, a lot bigger than 2 previous hotels which were more reputable, staff at the front desk were awesome

Rooms are big but very dated, carpets in hallway on ground floor and 4 floors are in bad condition

Friendly staff on the reception desk were always helpful and friendly, good location, only 10/15 minutes walk from the nearest station. Clean and spacious rooms. Our favourite hotel on our Japan visit so far.

On the positive side the reception staff were very kind, polite and helpful throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. There was a strong smell of dampness and mould throughout the hotel, noticeable from the reception area, in the corridors and especially inside the room. The air conditioning was particularly problematic: it appeared very dirty and poorly maintained, and when switched on, it produced a very strong and unpleasant smell that made the air in the room uncomfortable. We eventually had to turn it off and open the window to ventilate the room. There were also visibly dirty/stained areas on the carpet also mold stains on the curtains.I contacted the hotel by email regarding these issues, but unfortunately I was unable to get any satisfactory response or solution. The cleanliness and maintenance of the air-conditioning systems clearly need much more attention. This is not only an issue of comfort but also of air quality and potentially of concern for guests with respiratory sensitivities. I believe the hotel would benefit greatly from better cleaning, regular air-conditioning maintenance, and some general refurbishment/attention to the condition of the property.
