The cathedral city of Ripon is 12 miles away and, further afield, the stylish spa town of Harrogate a 30-minute drive. Nearby National Trust attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon and Brimham Rocks in Summerbridge.
