hot water ran out halfway through a shower, parking was said to be included but it wasn’t . no lights in foyer at night, dark stairway. smelly. no aircon, concern re cleanliness of cutlery, crockery. One key easy to lock yourself out. noisy at times. Overpriced considering its condition. Hot water is not an option at over 300 a night!

What breakfast, we cooked our own. Unit needs painting could not use the grill as only the bottom part was there, carpet needs replacing, we stayed there a few years ago and it was just the same, bathroom needs replacing and the toilet too . Unit is in a good location for us , great views . Update would go a long way

Nice location, not too far from the restaurants.

There is old smell especially in bedrooms;
The unit is dirty, looks dull and outdated;
Kitchen is old, sad looking, utensils aren’t clean, glasses are full of detergent marks; Carpet are dirty; bedroom windows are not clean too.

No exhaust fan in bathroom. Mould on some tiles around bath. Mould on bathroom window.

The View.
As soon as we stepped into the unit it had a stale, old smell we put a candle on to try get rid of it.
The only way to describe the unit is “Gramma’s house in the old days”. Nothing modern in the unit at all. The stove not sure how old that was.
The two single beds in the second room were small my two adult family members couldn’t move. The bathroom & toilet were so outdated. stains on the carpet mould stains on the curtains.
I know it cost a lot to upgrade things but if your going to be charging the price they do for the unit it could at least be a little more modern.
I was REALLY not happy about finding out about the large bond they hold right before our stay. A $500 bond is required I couldn’t believe it.
When checking in the gave us a little paper bag which had in it 1 tiny shampoo & conditioner, few sugars, few coffee packets one dish cloth and small role of toilet paper. with 4 guest we ran out of toilet paper, there is no tissues in the property.
I opened one cupboard and the storage container in there was stained yellow colour. I could go on and on.

The location was literally across the road from Lakes Entrance. An excellent view on the balcony. The neighbours were quiet and considerate. A ten minute walk to the shops and cafes. The sun in the morning warmed the place nicely. Check in and check out were efficient and simple.
Needed a larger knife and cutting board to prepare meals. Other than that the place had everything that was needed.

The location and the outlook was just perfect for what I needed for this holiday.
I paid over $203 per night for 19 nights for this holiday and I would have expected that this accommodation would not be so dusty upon arrival. I The main bedroom had 1 bedside lamp which was not even plugged in, plus you had to move the bed to insert the plug. The 2nd bedroom also had a lamp beside the bed with no globe in it as well. The ornaments on the bedside tables each bedroom where totally full of dust. the carpets needs a good clean around the edges to remove the dust as well. I had to ring on the Monday to ask for cleaners to come and remove the pedestal fans (3) which were completely full of dust and rust. These people arrived within 1/2 an hour to service my request. The girls were just fabulous and could see exactly what I was saying about the dust. Even cutlery in the draws were not clean, food still on some. The bathroom also needs a rail for people to climb into the bath for a shower which was not listed when booking the holiday. I realise that these units have been there for 40 years, but I do feel with charging these costs that things could be updated and upgraded, also to suit older people (myself) to be able to breathe upon entry, no air conditioning, filthy fans to use, and feel safe entering the shower. The sofas in the family room were very luxurious but very low and hard to get out of, so I mainly sat at the table or on the deck for suitable chairs. The garage for parking did not lock at all so parking out the front on the street was more suitable as I drive a SUV which was a bit tight to enter as well. I was advised by a grief counsellor to have a R & R holiday to help me relax, so I did like the location and the view but just think that the other things should be addressed for health and safety issues when charging these costs. My parents had also stayed at the Dolphin units some 30 years ago, and at that time they would have been quite to standard. I am happy if you would like to speak with me about this booking.

The location
The apartment was not clean. The plates in the cupboard were dirty. The blankets had holes in them and were very old. The bed had hair in side the sheets.

When we arrived it smelt very mouldy but wasnt too bad when we opened it up. Bathroom is very old and the whole unit could do with a good clean. Couldnt fit the car in the garage. Location is amazing and for this we recommend it and would return.

Spare blankets need an update, needs new dish sponges , under the sink was not nice and a lot of dust everywhere and the bathroom and toilet need a clean.

The balcony had the most amazing views, was directly across the road from the beach and a short stroll to the shops and restaurants. The main bed was comfortable, linen comfortable, water hot and good shower pressure. Washing machine provided (although didn’t use). It was a pleasant surprise to be provided with some essentials. I would rebook knowing I’m going for the balcony and views.
Sadly the unit needs a good clean, I actually went to the shops and got some disinfectant wipes to give things a good wipe over (not because it was all really dirty but because so many basics were not up to my standard, I wondered if the cleaner had made other shortcuts). As others have said the floor is sticky and I was reluctant to take my shoes off. It would be worth their while to invest in a good clean and then it would be easy to upkeep. The mirrored wardrobe doors were, I suggest, cleaned with something other than window cleaner. Windows again could do with a good clean and grout in the shower/bathtub could be attended to. Second bedroom, the two single beds were tiny and completely uncomfortable, the mattress was hard as a rock, so much so my daughter slept on the lounge. Reminded me of a 1970’s unit, which I wouldn’t mind if it was clean. Perhaps the owners/real estate booking office should consider changing cleaners as it’s a shame to write what I have. Just go for the views and wear your thongs inside
