it was close to the boarding point for the sightseeing boat and there were restaurants around.

We initially hesitated to reserve 2 nights as our concern was that we may be served the same food for breakfast and dinner as we couldn't specify the menu under Booking.com. The hotel actually had quite a few types of menus for guests to choose. However, one reviewer commented that they had different menus for their 2 nights stay and true, we were served different set, no repetition even for breakfast. The free cruise provided by the ryokan turned out great as we had a good time with the sea gulls.

We didn't like the strong wind......not the fault of the ryokan...too uncomfortable to soak in the rooftop onsen which was what attracted me to book this ryokan. But the indoor onsen was great..... The serving for buffet items such as beef and unagi was so small that almost all guests had to make a few trips or took a few plates at one time.....

- great location right at the lake, 2min to the pier, 15min to PalPal Amusement park - rooftop Onsen - Dinner and Breakfast were amazing (rather new dining room) incl. free flow drinks - free shuttle bus from/to Hamamatsu station (40min ride) - free ticket for boat cruise included (30min)

- apparently old, built in the early 70s, which you can tell easily, some rooms seem mostly original from that time. - relatively pricey, however shuttle, rooftop Onsen and great dinner/breakfast make up for most of it (- not related to the hotel: PalPal Amusement park is quite old / run down and tame. Good with smaller kids, otherwise underwhelming)

Breakfast got cold. Uncomfortable bed, also the smell of the sheets. Everything looks old.

Onsen was great. The open air bath on the top floor had a great panoramic view. Beautiful and peaceful surrounding. Not too far from bus stop. Good restaurants nearby.

Hygiene needs to be improved, especially for a hotel of this price range.
