It was well located, within walking distance to lots of great sites and public transport. The room was spacious for a family of 4.

No lift on the property. (only a minor issue)

The room was vety spacious! The bathroom was huge as well, really enjoyed the bathtub. The hotel was minutes away by foot from the river. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

The rooms were only accessible by stairs. It was quite inconvenient to bring our suitcases down after checkout.

Very close within walking distance to the main Gion tourist spots, and a quiet side street location. Comfortable and large room very like the pictures. Japanese toilet and a good shower in a wet room with quality facilities.

It was a bit dusty. We never saw a single member of staff there whole time we were there, and had to communicate through the Booking.com web site for extra water and coffee. As a bit of information this property would not be suitable for anyone who has trouble with stairs especially with heavy cases as there is no lift and the only access is via various fairly steep sets of stairs.

Wonderful location super close to Gion. Friendly helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble. Room was very spacious for a family of 5.

Superb hotel in Kyoto. Ideally located in a quiet area, a few minutes walk from the center of Gion. The staff, incredibly kind. The room and the facilities are very clean. My family (5 people) really like this hotel.

There are only stairs , No elevator but the staff can help to carry the luggages to the room.

Convenient location and spacious.

Rather bright first thing in the morning and not really sound-proofed so recommend an eye mask and earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Lack of cupboard for clothes

The room was a really good size, plenty of space to relax in during our 5 nights there. Newly renovated rooms. The balcony was nice to relax on a see the city from (only rooms on 5th floor). Free laundry was great and the complimentary small breakfast of orange juice, pastries and fruit was a nice touch (only on weekdays though). Location was perfect right next to Gion and could walk to a station in 5 mins. The staff were always so friendly and helpful.

I don’t think they offer king beds but this didn’t really bother us. 2 queens was fine. Just note that there is no lift so if you are on a high floor you have to take some steep stairs (again it didn’t bother us much to be honest as we were out all day every day so only had to go up them once a day).

Beautifully presented, clean and modern. A stone throw away from the station.
