Clarion Suites Gateway

The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a family suite with my elderly parents, one of which were disabled. Not only did staff help carry all our medical gear, they also organised a late checkout which was so helpful. There was one minor incident- when we arrived the fridge was not cleaned, however it was no problem for us and the staff apologised and gave us some snacks and a kind letter. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were impeccably clean. Such spacious appartments, we will definitely stay again!

The pool was a bit cold, and there was no room service or mini bar.

Not sound proofed, could hear trains during the night, we were on the Yarra River, not much of a view. Shower over bath, not much room and water was getting everywhere.

I loved the position as it was only 10-15 minutes walk to everything I needed to attend. I also had a river view room which was great. The kitchenette was extremely useful and enough for a few days.

The air conditioner was unbelievably noisy with a loud booming hum rather than the usual white noise. It was so disturbing I had to turn it off. Luckily it was not summer! Also there is significant noise from the trains, but I was less disturbed by them than the air con. There was a bit of noise transfer from the next room and doors, but not too troublesome luckily.

The reception area was good and the location for our business meetings was good but that is where it stops. I will not book this hotel again.

The rooms were tired and there was a smell of damp. One room had carpet in the bathroom this is pretty unheard of. The noise from the trains was unpleasant. Reception area was nice but this isn't copied into the rooms
