A family resort, lots for kids to do. The resort is stunning. Unique feels like VIP, the best gym I've ever seen at a resort. Unique food was above average, Atlantico buffet, fillet mignon, the yellow cronuts, chocolate pancakes & waffles, fresh fruit smoothies, meaty bacon, rock lobster everyday, the calmari, decaf nespresso, brie cheese, the candied plantains, cheese pizza, and most deserts at specialty restaurants. Butler service was perfect. Jose knew his job well, the maid service left me a case of water and extra towels without asking, the restaurant servers worked so hard. Best Dominican music played at pools & thruout resort, best live bands, and roaming musicians at dinner. No staff was rude or mean to me ever which has happened at other resort visits to the DR.

Cold showers, NO hot water in unique rooms. I got room service 2 out of 4 tries, Seaweed on beach. Theres so much, the staff cant clean it up fast enough. It just comes back. Omelettes were always burned because staff is overwhelmed. Also, I accidentally left an expensive, trendy magazine at the Gondola restaurant after my long meal. I traveled solo and read a lot. The next day I went back. My waiter was there & excitedly told me he found it. Cool, I was ready to tip him as a thank you. I watched him & other staff search for it. I even searched for it. They called the supervisor who they said had it. It was not turned into lost and found which had an impressive amount of tourist belongings. I was told to come back at 6:30 but all I got was apologies. The supervisor came up to me later at another restaurant apologizing that NO she doesn't have it. THAT means she stole it. I was a very generous tipper and felt sad I made that mistake. She had no excuse and a guilty, dishonest look on her face BUT I let it go!

Super clean, the staff was amazing and friendly. We booked the unique option and the food was just outstanding. We weren’t able to try all restaurants but the ones we went to were great.

Absolutely perfect. Everything. The best of all resorts. Food, attention, decorations, comfort, all luxurious.

The pool hours could be a lot longer, not closing at 6 pm.

The rain

Lopesan was an extraordinary experience, we stayed for 6 days for our 7th anniversary in Unique side, 3rd floor, 3363, and since the day one we were treated kindly. The staff was really nice, front-desk, waiters, room services, bartenders, Marcela, Fannia, Arturo. Special thanks to our butler Daniel, was very caring person, added so much to our stay. The facilities are really new! There were so many pools, the beach front and the sun rises were amazing, the gym is huge, food was good (see dislike section). We truly enjoyed our vacations there and definitely come back again :) Our favorite places/moments were: the beach with some margaritas, the Unique breakfast (smoked salmon, little cream pastry and chocolate donuts), the foam party in the main pool and the Bavaro caffe.

We were able to booked at Gondola (Italian), Inari (Asian), Mareas (mediterranean) and La Boheme (French), overall, these restaurants have great vibe, specially the French, but the food quality we felt was several steps down from the region original cuisine. We never expected it the be the best but at least have some sparks. For example, At Inari, my sushi nori tasted old, and our main dish did not have a real asian flavor, and that day it was really crowded and the service was not the best, we didn't even order dessert. Italian Gnocchi and Lasagna were fine, and French was normal, we don't even remember what we ate there 3 weeks ago, so I think was forgettable. But I have to say that there were some dishes we really enjoyed, like the Chivo (goat), Cordero (lamb) and Cerdo (pork loin), Paella, fish, all from the Atlantic/Caribe buffet and the sushi from Unique buffet was also great.

It is a beautiful hotel to stay, wonderful and helpful staff, comfortable and very clean place. The restaurants are very good and the food surprised us with its quality. Lots of bars and pools. The kids club is very lovely and the nanny’s too. Babies’ pools and water park are amazing, it’s a very kid-friendly hotel.

Just as a recommendation, it could be a good idea if the hotel had a couple of push chairs (strollers) available for rental. The airline lost ours on the way to Punta Cana and the walks within the hotel are significant. Also, if you are looking to party all day and night this probably isn’t the place for you.

The room, the unique experience, i wouldn't book the normal rooms from Lopesan. The beach is so near to the rooms, and the unique buffet is amazing.

The people working at Lopesan (besides the unique specific places) are sometimes rude. The mexican restaurant is a disaster.

Services exclusive to the VIP area (Unique) and the design of the hotel

Beach location - full of boats in the front of the hotel. You never get an obstructed view of the sea.
