Great rental I quiet neighborhood but so close to everything- walked to beach and lighthouse as well as downtown- huge screened in porch and balcony access upstairs from two bedrooms overlooking partial river and lake view.. nice house - lotta space for privacy too..

This home was perfect for us. It is on a quiet block, with short walks to the harbor walk and to the beach. The house is spacious and welcoming. The kitchen is well appointed and we really enjoyed making s’mores at the campfire. The screened porch is really awesome, too.

I have rented several properties in SH in the past, and this one is large and in a great location. Sadly, it is not well cared for. When we arrived we saw that the front and screen porch were not swept. The screen porch, a nice addition, was less inviting due to the visible dirt and cobwebs on all the screens and food crumbs in seat cushions. Food crumbs were also in the couches inside the house and on the indoor floors . We also found a letter in the kitchen from the city of SH saying “this is a 3rd and final notice” for the owner to schedule a mandated property inspection, and that the water would be turned off during the week of my rental. When I notified the owner, she indicated that this was taken care of. That was not true, as two men from the city arrived midway through the week and said they were there to turn off the water that day! Luckily they were understanding of my predicament as a renter and said they would wait until the weekend to turn off the water. I informed the owner of this and she essentially blew it off. (Incidentally, the men from the city also made mention of how the outside of the home did not look like it had been cared for, so I was not alone in my opinion.) The kitchen was dirty, i.e., pots and pans were greasy to the touch and hanging from a pot rack covered in stuck-on cobwebs, and baseboards and corners were frankly filthy with food crumbs, cobwebs, etc. This was true throughout the first floor. The upstairs seemed cleaner, perhaps because it is a newer addition. The balcony has a great view but was also barely swept; dirt, leaves etc. circled the entirety, as did a ring of mildew on the railing. The pièce de resistance was the grill CATCHING ON FIRE because the grease trap was full. Luckily my husband, who was grilling at the time, had seen the fire extinguisher and used it quickly. It’s a minor miracle no one was hurt, what if the propane tank exploded!? I told the homeowner about this immediately and she was pretty nonchalant. She essentially told me to just eat at the local restaurants in SH, like oh well 🤷‍♀️. It was only Tuesday so I took it upon myself to clean the grill after researching how to do so. I asked the owner to refund my cleaning fee for this, and she essentially ignored me. I told her all of the above info prior to posting this review but received only a flat refusal to return the cleaning fee. So, caveat emptor with this property! At least the grill is clean!

This house was very spacious and accomadating for the 6 of us. The location to the beach took 10 to 15 minutes to walk, not 5. Just a few minutes to channel. You should know there is almost no yard, which did not affect our stay but might someone else. Our bed on main floor had a big lump in mattress which my poor husband had to endure. If none of the above bothers you, you will greatly enjoy this house.

We have stayed in several South Haven rentals but this one was the best. We had plenty of room to spread out. We were within minutes of walking to the beach, pier, downtown. There were tons of linens and towels. The kitchen is in need of more pots and pans. We bought an inexpensive 12” frypan as there was only one and it was about 8”. Had a little trouble getting in as the lockbox was broken but problem was resolved fairly quickly. Beds are comfortable and house was clean. The screened in porch was a favorite of everyone both furingvthecdayvandxevenings. We had a wonderful time.

This is our 2nd year staying at this awesome house and we love it . Perfect location , close to beach and downtown . Screened porch is amazing and view of the Black River is beautiful. Julie is great to work with .

Julie’s house was just perfect for our family. Plenty of space for everyone. The fire pit and bikes were an excellent addition and bonus. The location of the home is excellent for walking to town or to the beach. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Great stay in South Haven!!

We enjoyed a needed break from work with our adult son. The house was within blocks of the south beach, river and town.

Been coming to the house with family for a few years now.....decided to do a girls weekend and had such a great time! Room for everyone.....loved the fire pit on the cool nights!

Nice big house with plenty of room for spending time with family. Screened in porch is large and the weather was great so this was where we spent most of our time. Property owners are very responsive to any questions you might have. I would recommend this place to others and I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed the large screened-in front porch where we ate our meals, listened to the sounds of a heavy Lake Michigan surf, observed the boaters in the channel and played card games every evening while viewing the beautiful sunset sky. Perfect location for walking to the beach, the marina and the many downtown shops.

Great time again in South Haven; this property housed our crew of 5 adults, one teen and a 5 year old!! Bicycles, sand toys, fire pit; balcony and screen room to see the river easily. Comfortable air conditioning and homey decor; plenty of bathrooms for all of us!! Looking to book next year! The best place in our 13 years of South Haven.

This is now the third (or maybe fourth, I can’t remember!) time we have stayed in this home and we love it for our family of 7! Location is perfect for beach and walking for shopping/food downtown. The house has always been clean and is spacious enough that we are not on top of each other all week! Can’t wait to come back!
