Loved staying here! A bunch of friends were in area to work and it was great to recoup when we were off! Its really close to the beach (and to a really good frozen yogurt place) and the beds were super comfortable! Also it’s just a quick 7 minute ride to downtown Ventura. Also Jeff is very easy to get ahold of and communicate with! Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others!

We absolutely loved our week at this beach house! The property is adorable, immaculately kept, and about 300 feet from the beach, making it perfect for our week away with two small toddlers. There is a great little assortment of restaurants two streets over and a grocery store a short walk away, with downtown Ventura just over a mile away. The nice kitchen, hot tub, grill and spacious backyard made spending time at the property in between beach trips just perfect for us. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was a great location, the house was exactly what we needed, the kids had the backyard, we enjoyed the hot tub, and most importantly, it was just steps from the beach! We were walking distance to good restaurants. The location is easily accessible to anywhere you’re going. Absolutely loved it!! The owner is also very friendly and helpful!

I would actually rate it a 4.5 star, but I wasn't given the option. There were many good things about our stay here, and only a few minor details that could be improved. First the good! The owner was very good with his communications; timely and friendly. The beach house was as expected; roomy for the six of us (Dad, three kids 9,6 and 5, and my wife and I.) Rooms were open, airy and comfortably furnished, with nice windows and fresh air breezes in the evenings and when needed. Beds were comfortable, the middle child actually preferred the sleeper couch in the living room to the bunk bed, but she's our little rebel :) Linens and towels were furnished and quite adequate. The back yard was spacious and beautiful, exactly what you would expect in a California beach home, maybe even a bit larger then we expected. Back yard furniture was plentiful and comfortable, making evening dinners and coffee "al fresco" very pleasant. The outdoor shower was a welcome feature after the beach, and the clothesline in the back was perfect for drying those beach towels afterwards. We aren't spa users, so that feature was never explored. Now those pesky little things. The front gate to the house would scrape on the ground when opened, just enough to be annoying. The sound unit in the living room was non-functioning, at least when I tried it with an iPhone and an iPad. No joy! I even tried replacing the battery on the remote. I followed all the instructions so I don't think it was me. The bathroom is a bit small, no room for shaving kits or anything that require a counter. The dish washer got a "C-" from the wife. Just didn't seem to get the dishes clean. The kitchen knives really need a good sharpening. The utensils were plentiful, lots of good pots and pans etc, but I do love sharp knives. The house was steps from the beach, by definition, but in actuality, the beach we used was the Ventura Harbor Marina beach, which was much more "kid friendly" for my little ones. It wasn't far, maybe a few miles down the road, and worth the trip. The Pier beach ( about a mile and a half away) was also a nice option, and if you parked in the big parking garage next to the hotel, any of the beach restaurants or hotels would validate your parking ($2/ hour) Minor things, I know, but I though it worth mentioning, as with the good! The "all and all"? It was definitely a good experience, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants the whole "beach house" experience vacation

Mit zwei Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern hatten wir eine sehr schöne Zeit in dem gut ausgestatteten charmanten Cottage. Es gab keinen Grund für Beanstandungen, im Gegenteil: Es wurde allen unseren Wünschen gerecht. Der Vermieter ist ein sehr freundlicher Ansprechpartner, sehr bemüht und für Fragen immer ansprechbar (schnelle Kommunikation per Mail oder Telefon)! Das Haus ist in eine sehr nette Nachbarschaft eingegliedert und durch die unmittelbare Nähe zum Strand ideal gelegen. Es gibt in der näheren Umgebung gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

This is perfect little beach cottage - prob 75 yds to the beach. Rooms were great, owner Jeff was super helpful and responsive. Loved the art and 'surf' feel of the the place. The hot tub and surprising spacious back yards were nice touches for sure. Perfect for a family of four.

We had a wonderful stay here in Ventura. Jeff provided excellent details for our stay and responded to our questions quickly and enthusiastically. Great host! We enjoyed the short walk to the beach (with some beach chairs provided) and the occasional stroll over to the yogurt shop a few blocks down. At night, we dipped into the hot tub and relaxed under the stars. The backyard was spacious and if we had guests over, it would be perfect for having a BBQ with some friends or family. Be sure to try the sound bar when watching movies and iPod Speaker for when you're lounging or cooking in the kitchen. It can get warm in the afternoon so utilize that ocean breeze by opening up the sun roof/windows & turn on that fan. We would stay here again, especially if we plan more time at the beach.

We had a lovely stay in this little beach house, it was perfect for our family. Close to everything you needed and the house was well supplied. The back fenced yard was very much appreciated for all us .... peaceful morning coffee & a day of fun. Very nice neighborhood thank Jeff it was a pleasure!

Jeff is proactive with communication giving detailed instructions which made the stay easy and enjoyable. The house itself is clean, well maintained, furnished with everything you could need, and in a great location; walking distance to shops, a bar, and the local trolley route to town. The place is very homely and clearly their treasured weekend getaway which, should you need it, is inspiration to be respectful and good tenants. My family had a fantastic stay and the transaction was easy with Jeff. Would recommend Jeff and his property, especially for families.

We loved our stay at the beach cottage. The location to the beach was perfect. The restaurants and grocery store were convenient. The backyard was spacious and lovely with the hot tub. The mattress in the bedroom was soft and you rolled into the middle, while mattress in the family room was on a futon and sagged on one side. The shower head was great in the bathroom. We really appreciated the washer and dryer. We were unable to get wifi the morning we left. We loved the location and really enjoyed staying there and would come again.

We had the pleasure of sharing this beautifully situated cottage with family while visiting Ventura. It is located less than a minute from the beach on a quiet lane, has an expansive yard for kids (young and old) to play in, and a clean, inviting interior that is well-equipped to be a "home away from home". Apart from the beach, parks are within easy walking distance. There is easy access to streets that take one quickly into the many attractive features of Ventura (botanical gardens, farmers' markets, shopping, hiking trails, etc.). We are happy to recommend this VRBO rental.

We recently stayed at this beach cottage for a week with our 2 small children. Everything was so wonderfully perfect. We could not have been happier. We walked to the beach every day, played all morning, came back for lunch and naps, then headed back for more afternoon play. We had cookouts in the wonderful backyard, and once the kiddos were asleep, we relaxed in the hot tub under the stars. It was total bliss. We felt a million miles away. We can't wait until we can come back again and again. Thank you so much for a perfect vacation. We simply can't wait to return.

We had a very nice and relaxing stay in Ventura. Nice location, very short walk to lovely beach, grocery store, park for young children. Nice kitchen, beautiful gas grill, great big yard with comfortable seating (shaded) and hummingbirds and butterflies. Enjoyed the spa pool too.

Have spent one week in July 2013 in this place - it is a really superb place. Equipped with everything to think of, and kept in excellent condition by the sympathic owners. Everyone in our family - with two boys aged 13 and 16 - enjoyed the tidy cottage in the quiet and nice neighborhood. The beach is a one-minute walk away! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We just couldn't be happier with this house. It's super cute, light, bright, and priced right. And the owners are great. I don't know how their kids let them get away with renting it out! My kids never want to leave. The beach is a few houses away, clean and feels private and I don't worry when my kids 14 and 17 and their friends are out there solo. There is a grocery store, local pizza place, subway, fast food, yogurt shop, nail salon and Starbucks within walking distance and a mall within a 10 minute drive. We have been renting beach houses in Ventura for many years, I came across this little jewel last summer and we loved it so much, we've booked it twice for this summer. Thank you Jeff and family for sharing your home with my family. We truly love it!!!! See you in August!!! :)

We had a great stay at the cottage and I would highly recommend it. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens and games. The backyard is spacious and the grill and hot tub were top quality. Jeff was an excellent host and was available for any questions while we were there. It is a perfect location for exploring Ventura.

This lovely, cozy house offered the perfect retreat from hectic city life. Great kitchen and new flatscreen TVs, chic decor, very comfy bed in the master. Everything you need and nothing you don't. You'll feel at ease right away. The yard is big and nicely landscaped; the pictures don't do it justice. Loved having coffee on the patio in the mornings, so peaceful. House was big enough for two couples and a child very easily but really was ideal when it was just my husband and me. A real haven. I want to go back! You can't beat the location. Steps to the beach and just a short walk to cafes, a supermarket, and a Starbucks. Jeff, the owner, was super nice to deal with and very responsive. You should seriously consider this house for your vacation.

My family and I spent a week at this darling little home. It is so cute with a HUGE backyard with a hot tub and a giant expanse of flat lawn. I have a tumbler and she loved the space. The kitchen is stunning with lovely granite counters and bright white cabinets, the floor was elegant espresso hardwood. I did think there was 3 bedrooms, but the 2nd bedroom is huge and partitioned off by a two-sided storage unit (which by the way DOES NOT diminish the space and provides privacy) with a bunk bed on one side and a queen on the other, as well as, a super comfy pull out in the sofa in the living room. Plenty of space. The home is a few houses from the beach and a few blocks from Vons, we body surfed and body boarded, along side of seals and dolphins, walked to the store and on the path running along the state beach to the pier and the fairgrounds. It is close enough to take a jaunt to Carpinteria or Santa Barbara in the morning and still make it back to enjoy the beach and the afternoon sun. Dealing with owner was so great. He actually answered his phone when I called about the property and we were able to take care of business quickly and efficiently. He made sure everything was just right and even seemed happy to hear from me when I needed help with the cable remote (later in the evening) and has been cheerfully communicative at the end of our trip!!! Thank you, Jeff and family. We would love to come back and plan on it soon!!!!!
