A great location to be able to walk around Auckland and easy to access public transport to explore further. The staff at reception, concierge, cleaning and the pool/gym were fantastic. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
We arrived a day earlier than expected and on checking in we asked if we could be put into the same room that we had booked for the next three days. The staff member at check in was very helpful and explained that we had to book online, however there was only the higher level of accommodation available online. The staff member said they could see that a room the same as the one we booked was available, however had to ring the reservations team to see if we could link it. The reservation's team advised that they had blocked out all of the rooms of the same level and we would have to purchase a deluxe room for the night then transfer to the one we had booked. This was at approx 16:00. The staff member at reception made a note and informed us if the room was available in the morning we could transfer without having to check out and back in. I received a phone call at approx 08:30 the next morning to inform me the room was ready. This clearly indicates that the room hadn't been used and felt to me as if we had been pushed into spending more money than required.

Location to all our appointments was very good.
Not the 5 star rating they advertise at!! I would suggest room would only be 3-4 star. 1 Example: Cushion on couch was ripped & turned back so not to be noticed. Decor probably at nearly used by date.

The concierge staff are always fantastic!!
Convenient location for our event at sky city.
Was disappointed that the sauna was closed as that is one of the reasons that we booked at the grand, but the lady on the desk was very kind and offered us a late checkout so that we could utilise that the next day after it was opened once maintenance was completed
Lighting in the bathroom is atrocious for putting on makeup to be honest, but other than that, all was Grand!
