Located just out of the town centre in a quiet leafy area but with good transport links. On site parking is adequate although quite expensive (free if you book direct I believe). The on site destination chargers (Roam - Electroverse compatible) are a great bonus for EV owners.
The room was well sized, reasonably quiet and the bed was comfortable. The shower in the en-suite was really good - always important in my book.
The restaurant was excellent, we booked in there for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The food and service were really good. We were particularly impressed at how quickly the staff turned the restaurant around after a wedding reception in the afternoon (which seemed to over run a little) to be ready for evening reservations.
The bar was comfortable and the service was good. All the staff were friendly and attentive.
We would happily stay there again.
This is an older hotel so you inevitably hear other guests moving around, particularly in the room above. Also, it was not ideal having the room above the smoking area of the function suite on a Saturday night, although the hotel did warn us in advance and the celebrations wrapped up fairly early. Events also put pressure on the car parking.
TV in the room could definitely do with an upgrade. The fan provided was also a little underwhelming - fortunately it wasn't too hot and the area was quiet enough to sleep with the windows open (except on the Saturday night!).

Great location!
No usb sockets in the room! Noticed crockery at breakfast was marked and the salt pepper pots where dirty on the table, ran out of ham for my omelette
