Breakfast very good. Only thing we found the bedroom rather small.

Staff were excellent. Reception were welcoming, always greeted with a " hello, how are you" and very helpful. Gave a good impression of the hotel Meals were good and service good. Room comfortable and spacious. Good value. If you like outdoors there is plenty to see - walks sightseeing, touring etc. Although I did not use the leisure centre, the pool are looked excellent.

Being a bit picky. Water was a bit cooler on second day of my stay. Room chair had a rip on the side.

The heating was on all night even with the radiator at 0 so they gave us a fan there was no potatoscons with the breakfast and alot of plasters and gross things in the pool the hot tub was very small and they ran out of slippers at reception

Its location is perfect for exploring the area around Loch Lomond. It’s quite comfortable, the rooms are clean. The dinners are good, the beer in the bar is in great condition and it has a small but lovely selection of whiskies. A few of the staff are very friendly, kind and helpful (but sadly not all).

A few of the staff had a Fawlty Towers attitude - grumpy e.g. when tap water was brought to the table we said politely we asked for still mineral water. The waitress picked up the carafe without a word returned a few minutes later with the mineral water. Plonked it in the middle of the table and walked off without a word - not even bothering to open it! Similar with a bottle of red wine - brought and put in the middle of the table and the waitress walked off. We assumed to get a corkscrew but no she didn’t come back. We asked if they could open it so they took the bottle and returned it without the cork, without a word but the foil had not been removed it was just broken through and we had to remove it before we could pour the wine. There was no offer to taste - just nothing! Then the fire alarm went off at 7.30am. Most people got up and stood in the corridor awaiting instruction rather than leave per the back of door instructions which was wrong but no staff came to check. One guy knocked on my door to ask if I was ok which was something but he didn’t say please leave and go to the muster point as he should have. And he had nothing to identify him as a fire marshal except a radio in his hand which didn’t work so he took off without another word. We went to reception where the receptionist just continued working as normal - there were no staff doing anything! There seemed to be no plan whatsoever in the event of a fire - guests were just expected to look after themselves. After a few minutes the alarm went off - it was a false alarm as is most often the case but you never assume that and the hotel needs to have a proper plan with proper fire marshalls with coloured plastic jackets ensuring that guests leave the building!
