We upgraded to a premium king room. It was large and elegant, with 2 small chaise longe, lots of storage, a bar fridge, great air conditioning, and a spacious shower and bathroom. Excellent location 10 mins walk from Waverley train station, the Royal Mile and trams to Princes St. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating.
For what we paid (almost $A1000 a night) we would've have liked the broken lamps to have been fixed. The King bed was 2 single beds pushed together with either very cheap or very old mattresses. The bed (s) was uncomfortable
We had to ask for more pillows as the thin feather pillows were inadequate. In a tourist hotspot like Edinburgh hotels know they can get away with this.

The location was perfect. We easily reached all points of interest (museums, restaurants, parks)by walking. The staff was delightful — attentive, warm, and took a genuine interest in us. The breakfast options were varied and delicious; the staff, again, were attentive and personable. Thank you!

Great location. Friendly Staff.
Worst bed ever. We felt like we had been given a beating after sleeps that were fitful at best. If you like an extra-firm mattress, or camping out on a slab of rock with no mattress pad, this is the place for you!
