InterContinental Sydney Double Bay by IHG

Great hospitality and service, comfortable beds in our room, central location close to heart of Sydney city and many locations to visit relax and enjoy, pool on roof is amazing for an early morning swim, double bay shops and amenities are walikng distance, overnight parking is available on street.

It took 45 mins to check us in on arrival. We stayed for 3 nights and each day our room was not serviced. We would have to call up at the end of the day to request a room service - which I think for the cost of the stay is poor. The beds would be roughly thrown together, still looking messy, often dirty dishes and cleaning products left in the room. I requested an extra pillow on the first day which was never delivered. The general state of the room was quite run downs. Lots of marks on the walls, old worn out carpet, furniture quite dated and oddly placed around the space (eg a chest of drawers half covering the entrance to the room - just felt weird). We loved the location but for such premium prices and real estate really feel like this hotel requires an upgrade. The rooftop pool while lovely with an incredible view, was often unmaintained. I would bring my children up in the morning and each day find empty champagne bottles rolling around on the sides of the pool, split sunscreen across the day beds, dirty old glasses, daybeds generally looking and feeling untidy and dirty. Again, would have expected a higher level of maintenance for such a premium price.
