Location and shower was brilliant, lovely touch with card and cake and strawberries

Breakfast in the morning one of the worst we have both ever had and I was served out of date apple juice too

Fabulous location near rail station, great restaurants, the castle, museums and galleries. An excellent breakfast. All in walking distance

We arrived early, before check-in time. We had our baggage but planned to explore the area before check-in. The desk agent, extremely cordial and accommodating, put our bags in storage. Later when checking in, she announced she'd taken the bags to our room! That's service. The smile? What a warm welcome to Scotland!

The glass door to the bathroom is very noisy. Bangs against the frame. During the night, this would wake up the sleeping partner when going in and out. Looks nice. Highly impractical & bothersome.

The room was beautiful and comfortable! They held our luggage as the room wasn't ready as we were very early. They did let us check in 1 hr before we were supposed to, and they had already brought our luggage to our room. This hotel is in the New Town area and very walkable to the train/bus station.

Staff was nice when you could find one. When we checked out, we put the key on the counter because we rang the bell three times and no one ever came. What we were really disappointed in, there was no food service. When we checked in , we verified that we could order food and bring it to our rooms because we weren't feeling good. When we went to order, no one answered the front desk or the restaurant bar. My husband walked down the bar area, and they told him they weren't serving food at all because they were short staffed. This was like 600 pm. Don't advertise these services if we, as your customers, can't receive them! I would have chosen a different hotel!! The staff really did seem overstretched! We stayed in both, New Town and Old Town. I much preferred the Old Town area.
