Loch Leven Hotel & Distillery

Fantastic view! Breakfast was very, very good - a lot of food choices. Breakfast server was a delightful woman who kindly pointed out landmarks that we could see from the dining room window.

It was very difficult to get out luggage to our room. We had to haul our cases up a carpeted, circular staircase that had a hand rail on only one side. The man at the reception desk did not offer any assistance. Once we got upstairs, we had to drag our gear to the furthest room at the end of the hall. That required going up and down a few more stairs. Although the room was nice with a good view, the bathroom could use an update.

Very pretty waterfront location for overnight stay. Beautiful garden out back to walk through with a path along the waterfront. Our travels were mainly for hiking and the front entrance had a couple of boot brush stations before entering. Restaurant (and bar) onsite had good food selection for breakfast and dinner.

Hotel doesn't have an elevator and was difficult to navigate with large luggage. Our room looked exactly like pic 20 and was above the kitchen area so open windows had a smell. Curtains open produced no privacy in the room. There's a very large "wardrobe" type closet which takes up much of the room making it hard to navigate. There were no luggage racks and everything had to be put into corners to avoid trip hazard at night including by the exit door. While clean, everything just felt old including curtains and furniture. Finally, the hotel is understaffed. The team (while pleasant) worked the front desk while working the bar and restaurant. Customer service was overall slow.

Great location, very nice staff, good set-up with the hotel having its own restaurant and pub. Great place to stop if in the Glencoe area. Beautiful surroundings.

There were hairs in the shower tub and it was not very clean overall. A bit too pricey for what you get.
