Hotel Splendide Royal - The Leading Hotels of the World

We have the best experience ever not the first time my kids love it. The hotel is just beautiful and elegant. Our suite rooms was stunning always clean and spotless. The roof up is just breathtaking recommending very much.

We have been visiting /staying at this venue most years over the last 16. The location is very pleasant, being central whilst quiet. We received an upgrade from a Superior room on check in.

Oh dear. How desperately sad. We have held this hotel and particularly Mirabelle restaurant in great esteem, hence our many visits. This time, our impression was of tired decor not particularly clean and a soul less room. The Mirabelle food was average and so dissapointing for a restaurant whos' cuisine we have consistantly receommended and returned to over many years. Canapes were no longer offered, my foie gras dish overcomplicated, as was my husband's tartare. Lobster for which there was a 30 Euro supplement was just boring, the beef ok. Dinner was over 500 Euro for two courses plus a shared cheese plate, a glass of Sauternes, one glass of vintage champagne and one glass of Brunello. The room bill of over 1,000 Euro for two nights...... In short, the Splendide is in desperate need of a refurbishment, particularly the rooms and corridors and the Mirabelle needs a shot in the arm. The price for both is just not providing cost to benefit any longer and, if it wishes to remain competitive in a fierce market and on both counts, a serious re think is required. We shall be staying elsewhere in future, with great sadness.
