Casa Antiga is QUALITY. Quality design. Quality antique furnishings. Quality comfy bed & linens. Quality bathroom fixtures and finishes. Multiple generations of this family owns and runs this and other properties. One cousin is the interior decorator who furnishes like its her own home with all the little details that make a difference. Another runs office operations. Another runs real estate. The elegant aunt is actually on-site to greet and help us guests. I LOVED my blue room, which included an enclosed sitting room where I had breakfast overlooking the garden. The location in the Cedofeita neighborhood is perfect, with cool design shops, a broad range of restaurants and bars, even an Auchon grocery store right down the street. There's even a nice living room on the first floor open to all guests, with tv, beverages, and books to read. So many places today look good in the photos but are run by corporations that use cheap IKEA furniture, and nothing seems to work. Casa Antiga is the Real Deal - true quality, invested in by quality people. I already stayed two separate times this trip, and will be back on my next visit!

Nothing - everything was great

We loved the location of Casa Antiga—out of the crowds but walkable to lots of great places. The two sisters who run it were very friendly and helpful and we loved the original details of the room and the lounge area.

I can't really think of anything that we didn't like. If you prefer to be in a busier, more touristy area then it might not be for you but we like to escape the crowds a little.

The room was beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed . We were very warmly greeted on our arrival

It was a lovely place to stay and in which to base a visit to Oporto

The property is based in Cedofeita , which turned out to be our favourite area of Porto . It’s close to all the fabulous alternative food spots and shops but within walking distance to the Ribeira. Ubers are also super cheap in Porto so we had no worries. Casa Antiga is a stunning property and it is a beautifully cared for ancestral home . Carolina was the the perfect host , she met us at the property and talked us through everything we needed to know .
