It was a great choice for breakfast lovely hot food made to order good choice though I would have liked bananas. Pancakes were not what I expected but still enjoyable. Delighted that it’s dog friendly great walks to go on and the fact there a separate room that allows dogs with you when eating top marks. Excellent location for nearby towns of Dalkeith & Musselburgh and quick access to get to Edinburgh. Highly recommend

Beautiful inside and out.
Some in our party of 17 said their rooms were small.

The property is lovely, with a nice bar area, and the bedding is very comfortable.
Breakfast was good, with a vegan option, and the staff was nice.
The castle could be better maintained, as there were exposed electrical wires in the room, which could be dangerous. The bathroom was also very basic, and for the price of €415 (night + breakfast), I have to admit that I was expecting better. The food at dinner was bland, with not much taste in either the risotto or the truffle tagliatelle. To finish, I was a bit surprised to be asked for a print of my debit card for a room that I had already paid for (but that could be their normal procedure).
