The Abbeygate Townhouse

Cosy, comfy and so close to the action. Check in was super easy.

Nothing

Fantastic. Great location for exploring Galway. AMAZINGLY comfy beds. Super quiet (despite us preparing ourselves for potential noise!). Super quick check in process. Very impressed.

Nothing!

The owner was friendly and very helpful, location was excellent

Bed was a bit uncomfortable, try to get a room not on ground level if possible.

The location was extremely central. Easy checkin/checkout which all happened digitally and very quickly.

There were a few issues unfortunately. One issue with the shower ensured we could not use it for almost two days (if i recall correctly). We got in touch with an employee over whatsapp and i think he tried his best but unfortunately did not exactly tell the truth, first someone was coming or there already. Then they'd be there lunchtime next day, in the end they only arrived around 5pm the day after we first got in touch. Some miscommunication probably. It did turn out that the shower problem had occured before and it probably just needed replacing..the guy difld offer to swap rooms (also due to a homeless person shouting into the window on one of the nights) which was kind but proved not to be possible as they never got back to us about it. We were also a little concerned that there was no emergency number for immediate problems. Ours got sorted by friendly garda but this could potentially be a problem for others. Location is super central though and i believe everything was clean. Just feels like the place needs a bit more love and attention.
