The Light House

Location is close to Galway city centre, some 10-15 minutes walking distance. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean, but basic.

Walls in the Light House are thin. My first night I could clearly hear my giggling neighbours; my second night I could clearly hear my snoring neighbour. The property is on a busy road; if you opt for a loch view room, the traffic can be loud. Facilities other than the room are basic, no additional comfort such as a comfortable seating area or rugs on the uncarpeted floor, although the balcony was pleasant (but the view is nothing to write home about). You are provided with a kettle which is too big to fit under the bathroom tap to fill, and a very small fridge. As someone who is follically-challenged, there were a lot of hairs from previous guests, especially on the bed throw -- I knew they weren't mine. No breakfast provided at this property, which only became apparent to me on arrival. This is a room only property, with no extra facilities to prepare or even warm up your food.

Liked the location and the room was comfortable and clean.

The hot water in the shower was burning hot the whole time we were there. The host tried to fix it, but it didn’t work. Check in was not until 4 pm and there was no early luggage storage, which was inconvenient.

We could walk to the central part of Galway

Parking was 20 euros a night for small space in front of house.
