The Gables Hotel & Bar Gretna Green

Loved this place. The staff are by far some of the friendliest I have ever met. The room was lovely warm and cosy. Very comfortable beds . Highly recommend this place to anyone and at a very good price. I didn't opt for breakfast as I went out every morning

The breakfast choice. A full Scottish or nothing but don't let that put you off as just remember they are getting this hotel back up and running

Lovely four poster bed in room, very comfortable. New carpet. Nicely painted and clean room. Friendly front of house staff that helped with luggage.

One teabag, assorted coffee and no milk on hospitality tray. Cobwebs behind bathroom sink. Although recently painted and wallpapered, the bathroom looked a bit grubby. The shower needs bleaching to clean the external base areas. The plug for the bath was detached from the chain which could have been fixed in 2 minutes. No hand towel. Toilet only flushed occasionally, though I did report this on departure and the front of house staff said it would be reported. I don't know if the Hotel does breakfast as I wasn't offered any. The copious amount of plastic flowers surrounding the outside look cheap and should be replaced by live bulbs or border planting. I parked at the back of the Hotel (as I have since I first stayed at the Hotel) which needed jet washing, as there was a large area of moss there . It also needed a good sweep and tidy up.There were broken car chargers lying about and the external litter bin was overflowing, I think some of the external spotlights were also broken. Not much investment has occurred externally, so not a good first impression. No fire escape action notice in the bedroom which I thought was mandatory. Disappointing. It could do better. Staff were very helpful though. Flimsy lock on room door.

Comfortable beds and relaxing bath. Ample parking close to hotel

Corridors and stairwell were very warm for this time of year.

It was very disappointing that breakfast was not available but we weren’t told until we went to reception at 9am
