OurMadeira - Babosas Village

I absolutely loved my stay at Babosas Village. As a solo traveller, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The restaurant was so lovely with beautiful views, the food and the wine was excellent.

Where do I start, what an incredible experience at this hotel and this location! The staff that we encountered the most is beyond friendly! I would like to thank Sonia from the breakfast team for being so caring, peaceful and sweet and Hugo who was entertaining us and having the best mood at our last dinner at the restaurant! The food was delicious, breakfast was similar but also different every day. The room is spacious with little kitchen and living room which give space to relax and have some time away from the bed. That being said, it is worth mentioning that the bed is super big and comfortable with two different options of pillows. The hotel is right next to the cable car that goes all the way to Funchal so you might use that as a transport or use the local bus 022 which was always on time both ways to and from Funchal! The ride with the bus though is a bit shocking and rough but easy to get used to after a few times. Be aware that the island has a lot of lizards and it is very possible that you see them everywhere including the pathway to the room. Last but not least, we had a personal special request which was fulfilled perfectly to the detail of what we asked! Overall, we would comeback thousand times so do not hesitate to book!

Nothing that we didn't like except that when arriving we felt very rushed with the people at the restaurant at that day. We understand that it was a busy night but after a slightly longer flight, an unusual rough trip with the bus that left us completely speechless and given the fact we are just arriving at a new destination for the first time during an important trip for us, it was a bit unwelcoming to be told to ''sit and wait'' while they were running around and we did not even understand that this was part of the check in process. All we wanted was to just settle finally instead of being told to calm down... It felt like we were inconvenience for the staff at that evening while for us it was finally the start of our special vacation. I thought long if I have to mention this but when seeing how Sonia, Hugo and the rest of the guys at the restaurant treated us in the following days, I would rather restart the first evening as that's the moment when your entire mood and stay for the coming days in a new country starts, and for us this was the only unpleasant piece of the whole week. Still, this did not affect our stay!

Bellissima struttura in una posizione fantastica,vicina alle varie attrazioni del sud dell'isola. Ci siamo trovati davvero bene! La colazione era fantastica e lo staff è stato eccezionale! Pulizia giornaliera ottima! Visto il livello cambierei i materassi, sono un po' scomodi..

Abbiamo trovato solo un paio di asciugamani con delle macchie.. probabilmente macchie di lunga data complicate da togliere

The sheets and the towels were so soft! The breakfast was incredible and abundant and such a nice view while having breakfast every morning was really good. The facilities were clean, the parking was easy. No issues whatsoever.

Maybe a slightly bigger room would have been nicer but that was genuinely minor and our own fault for leaving the booking a little too late.
