Super Hotel Kyoto Shijokawaramachi

This hotel is truly unique and creative in so many ways. I loved the thoughtful touches, such as being able to choose your own pillow and pajamas, as well as the hotel’s genuine focus on sustainability and being environmentally friendly. The breakfast was another highlight, with freshly baked bakery items and a great variety of delicious options. On top of all that, the rooms were exceptionally clean, and the location in the heart of Kyoto was incredibly central and convenient. A wonderful stay overall!

The only thing I found stressful was the repeated communication about check-in time before arrival. After booking, I was contacted several times to provide, confirm, and reconfirm my check-in time. Each time, the messages mentioned that if I didn’t arrive during the check-in time period, the reservation could be canceled and a fee might apply. While I understand the hotel wants to know guests’ arrival times, the repeated reminders felt unnecessary and added some stress, especially when travel plans can change. A more flexible and streamlined approach to check-in communication would make the experience even better.

Good location not far from train station and restaurants and shopping. Staff were very nice. We loved the selection of pillows for guests to choose from and the free happy hour drinks. Room was very quiet.

Our room was fine for us but bathroom was very small and carpet was a bit dirty.

The best service and welcome I have ever had at any hotel anywhere! At check-in, there was a sit down one on one greeting and explanation of the hotel and ammenities. It was impressive! . . . There was complementory sake in the dining room each day. . . The location is perfect. . . The room was small, but I travel solo so it's ok. . . Everything was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!

The location is amazing. Black out curtains were great, we slept till noon :) They had different kind of pillows which is important for people like me who have neck issues. Breakfast was varied and fulfilling.
