We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was very clean, and the bathrooms were newly updated and very nice. There were games and books for our kids to use, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and appliances. Penny even left us some maple syrup to enjoy! We also loved the nice lawn, where we could throw a football. There's a lot to do in the area - we enjoyed the pass to Dewey Beach on Lake Sunapee, (just a short drive away) as well as doing some fun hikes, going to the art fair, etc.. Penny made sure we were welcome and taken care of. Definitely recommended.

Penny's house and property was wonderful and perfect for our needs. My partner and two friends were in Lake Sunapee for a sailing regatta that took place over 4 days. After long days on the water, coming back to the house to clean up and unwind couldn't have been better. The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedding are all top notch. We couldn't have been happier.

This is a great place. Comfortable, well located, clean, equipped, tasteful, air conditioned, and Penny was great. We celebrated our 50th anniversary by returning to George’s Mills and this house made it wonderful. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in the area, for swimming, hiking, fishing, beauty, golf, or just relaxing.

My husband and my parents took a trip up to NH to visit some friends, and stayed in this home for one week. It had absolutely everything we needed, and more. The host left such welcoming touches, and we simply enjoyed the serene nature around us, and being away from the city. My husband and I both worked, good wifi. Everything was super clean. It was a perfect stay, I would certainly come back.

We have stayed in many VRBO’s and this one was the best! The house was super clean, the location was perfect, great communication with the property managers, fresh flowers in every room topped off with real New Hampshire Maple syrup, pancake mix and a griddle to cook them on. We had an amazing stay!

We enjoyed our time in Lake Sunapee.

If you are looking for a place centrally located close to year round fun and relaxation, you have found it.

Clean and comfortable home in a great location. Owner was a good communicator. Lots of little extras provided including fresh flowers, beach pass, stocked pantry and kitchen tools as well as area activity suggestions. I would recommend this home to friends and family.

Penny’s place was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 kids. She left little touches like seasonal blankets, real maple syrup, toys and books for the kids! We had a great time just relaxing in the comfortable space indoors and exploring the hiking trails and playgrounds outdoors. She also had a big yard for the kids to run around. There were plenty of food takeout and a very close by supermarket. We had a great time.

This home is perfect. Bottom line is do not hesitate to book, cannot recommend enough!! The location, landscaping and the home itself. The perfect blend of farmhouse charm and pristine modern renovations. The home was spotless and clean at check-in, with custom touches to welcome us, detailed instructions and a beautiful local gift of maple syrup from the owner (and there was even pancake mix to make it easy!). Not only was the home spotless, it had touches you would find in a luxury hotel. The master bathroom felt like a luxury hotel with a massive shower, double vanity sink and full-size toiletries in place if needed. The beds, sheets, pillows and all linens were spotless and hotel quality. Fresh flowers in every room was beyond expectations and so lovely. Massive washer and dryer made laundry a breeze. Our girls loved the house and the toys and puzzles and sidewalk chalk and books the owner had left for us to enjoy. Made it so easy to not have to worry about how to keep them entertained. We cooked almost every meal here for a week stay and found the kitchen (and grill) to be beyond well-stocked. Everything we needed. Beautiful open plan with great lighting and perfectly designed to make cooking a pleasure. The yard and side porches were great for our kids to run around while we drank coffee or wine. The screened-in porch was such a nice space to enjoy the cooler evenings without worrying about bugs. We found the location to be perfectly central to get out and see farms, the lake, wineries, hiking and nature. We swam in the lake every day (beach pass was included), and can’t wait to come back to ski in the winter. I can imagine the house is just as perfect in cold weather as it is in summer. Overall just perfect stay. Relaxing and wonderful

Everything about this vacation was smooth as could be-from reserving the property to checking in to our stay. We found the house exactly as advertised and were very pleasantly surprised at all the extra personal touches provided by the owner. We highly recommend Red Oar Cottage. We absolutely loved it!

We enjoyed our stay so much! This home with four large bedrooms was the perfect getaway. The screened in porch and beautiful yard were so peaceful to enjoy. We loved watching the birds each morning as we had our morning coffee. The bathrooms and bedroom are beautiful, with fresh flowers throughout the house. The house has everything you could possibly need! It's a quick drive to Lake Sunapee to eat or relax. This is the perfect home for couples or a family!

We had a great stay at Penny's house near Lake Sunapee. The house has everything you need for a family vacation, from kid toys, to beach chairs, to great wifi, and a washer dryer. Dewey Beach was a great spot for the kids to swim and play. Penny is a great host and was easily to reach throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this house if you are looking for a vacation near the lake!

This house was perfect for our family of four. We appreciated the nice decor and the open floor plan and took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill to cook at home. We took advantage of the nice yard, outdoor patio and screened porch. Penny was extremely responsive and provided a very warm welcome with fresh flowers and food essentials. There is a lot of great stuff to do and explore in the area. We will be back!
