Located in Smith Mountain Lake, this charming house for $264 per night is a great choice for your next break. This beautiful home offers deep water dock which is great for swimming and fishing. It is within walking distance from the Virginia Dare Marina where you can eat lake side at the Portside Bar and grill or go out for a sightseeing dinner cruise. Only 10 minutes to major a grocery store and State Park. Mile marker R21 allows you to get to the Dam or the bridge within minutes. There are several restaurants that are within a ten minute drive by car or boat. Very quiet neighborhood great for walking.

This was our second stay at this house. Perfect for our family and our dogs. Great location. Great dock. Love the gentle slope (not a lot of steps). Kitchen is well equipped. Main floor layout changed since we were last there…for the better. Nice big TV and reclining leather couches. Property manager is great to work with and super responsive. Spiral staircase to the basement can be a challenge to traverse (especially with a load of laundry)…dogs didn’t really like it either. But, it is a space saver so I get why it is there.

This home exceeded my expectations! We have been renting at SML for over 15yrs & stayed in many homes & condos - this one is among the best. We all noted that we slept better than any other place, the beds were comfortable & the AC worked great. The views from the Florida room were awesome, kitchen setup was great, the dock was amazing, landscaping beautiful, and the location on the lake perfect. The steps down to dock are a little steep but manageable with the tiered steps. We had very good weather & made awesome memories. Thanks again for sharing your home with our family!

This was a very cozy house with beautiful landscaping, view and boat dock. Only downside was you had to bring your own linens and towels and do some light cleaning of the counters/refrigerator before leaving, but it is totally worth it. We were able to kayak to the state park.from the house. Nice coves for paddle boarding.

Awesome property! A little older but very homey! Neighborhood very quiet. Great location on the lake and nice dock and sun deck! Our family enjoyed this location VERY much! We love SML and would definitely book this house again! Vicki was very helpful and responded quickly.

We arrived a little early and were so luckily to meet Vicki, she was so extremely welcoming. Gave us some tips on the area as well.
Stop looking and book this house, the pictures do not do it justice. The dock is large and where the dock is gives a great view of the sunsets every evening we sat out and watched the sun set.
The Lake is a deep lake, right off the dock it's 15 feet so great to fish and not get caught on the bottom as well great to jump off and not hit bottom.
We ate definitely going back!

It's tough to get a better view of SML than what you get at this house. The many windows facing the lake meant we could sit there for hours watching the boats coming in and out - very enjoyable! The lower deck is great and very convenient for docking our boat, the grill and hammock were fun as was the foosball table, but the upper deck needs some work. We did deal with an underwhelming cleaning job (tin foiled remains in the grill, shoes and bags left behind by previous renters) but the essentials were fine. Check-In process was choppy but we got it resolved. Owner was responsive and nice. The yard was well kept. Beds were comfortable. We would stay here again b/c the view was so amazing that it was worth every penny.

Great house! The property and lake access are awesome. Kitchen was great, everything worked well - appliances, lights, grill, etc. which can sometimes be a hassle in rental properties. It was convenient to feed a group of 7 at the lovely dining table and outside areas. The house could use some furniture upgrades in the sun/family room, but the sunset view was spectacular. House could use some TLC outside as well, mostly just an "after-winter" effort. Renting a boat that we could dock at the house was so convenient and fun. Many thanks for a great Easter weekend!

We loved the location of the property on the water and the cove. The house was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the AC and the appliances worked perfectly. The only complaint I have is the home is very dated, some of the lights don't work, doors are hard to open and close, it's a little bit run down. Needs a lot of updating. For the money they charge, some of it should be put in upgrades. Overall we had a good time and spent plenty of time on the water with the kids.

We go to SML every summer, but this time wanted some fall foliage time and less lake traffic. This property was a great spot for us and our Pomeranian. Great location. Really liked being so close to fuel station on the lake. Would recommend again.

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, clean house with a great dock. Nice landscaping - the yard was well manicured. Our chocolate lab loved diving off the dock and even made a new duck friend! Lots of people on the water in boats, water skiing, kayaking, riding sea-dos, and enjoying the early fall on the water. The area is very nice, easy to get to, neighbors are friendly, and the local grocery stores (Food Lion and Kroger) deliver within 2 hours if you're concerned about COVID. We used both with no issues. We were there to find a vacation home or lot to build on so we had a vested interest in the exploring the area. The spiral staircase to the lower level wasn't a big deal for us but might be for small children and the elderly. Overall, a restful, enjoyable week.

Easy to rent. Great spot on the lake and the dock was very nice. We had some trouble with the cleanliness and condition of the house. The house was beat up a bit, dirty, and covered in pet hair. We needed about a half dozen lightbulbs. Dishwasher leaked and kitchen sink was broken. The house just needed a little TLC. New grill on the deck was really nice and views from the sunroom of the lake were fantastic. I highly recommend watching the sunset from Adirondack chairs on the floater. We were out there every night.

We enjoyed our stay - furniture was comfortable & well arranged for groups of people. The beds felt like we were sleeping on air! Never slept so well. Calm area to canoe in, beautifull in the fall. Fish with Capt Bert, he knows the owners & will pick you up on the dock. Excellent fishing guide, striper is wonderful eating. Spice rack must have 30 spices. Great deck areas outside to sit in the sun & enjoy the lake, nice area to walk & can look across the lake to the state park. Got to watch the lake effects movie that was made at the lake in 2009 on the downstairs huge screen tv. Floor to ceiling sunroom windows with tables for eating, just a wonderful time.

My husband & I had an awesome stay at this Beautiful Lakefront Home! Although the weather was a bit un-co-operative for the first couple days we had absolutely 'no problem' curling up on the sofas & napping. Because the kitchen is stocked so adequately, I was able to prepare 10 of 12 meals we had while staying here. The washer/dryer was definitely a convenience & I was thrilled to find there was also a folding drying rack available for air drying delicates! Pleasantly surprised that there were '3' ashtrays provided for outdoor smoking! This rental is EVERYTHING anyone would need in a vacation home! We have been renting homes for years in the OBX for 3 to 4 x's the cost of renting this one. We were also thrilled that although this property allows dogs, the house didn't smell of dogs AT ALL & there was a lint brush there for removing dog hair when needed (I, personally, have issues with ANY kind of hair on my clothes). Vicki was ever so kind in speaking to us whenever we needed anythinig, via phone. The next door neighbors were also extremely sweet people. Can't wait to rebook next summer so our grandson (2 yrs old) can enjoy all this property has to offer & catch his 1st fish off the dock!!! Clean, well maintained, perfect location, beautiful views, extremely comfortable furniture BOTH inside & outside!! On a scale of 1-10 this property is a '12' I would recommend this rental to ANYONE who is looking for paradise in the states by a lake!

We absolutely loved our stay at SML. The house was perfect....the layout, comfort, cleanliness, landscape and location...just perfect. The owners were lovely to deal with. In fact, they gave up their plans to stay at the house so we could. We are so grateful!
We started each day having our coffee at the dock feeding bread to the sunnies with the kids. We had so much fun right at the dock: kayaking, swimming and fishing. The kids even got up the nerve to jump off the upper deck. A bass was caught by our middle son using a sunny as bait that he had caught with a bread ball. It was very exciting.
We loved cruising the lake on our pontoon rental...tubing and fishing...or just dropping anchor in a cove for a swim. We have three boys ages 14,12 and 9 who loved every minute of our stay....so much so that they forgot all about their lack of xbox and never once uttered the word "bored". Even our pup had a great time! To top it all off, we were visited almost daily in different locations by the ice cream boat...sure did put a smile on our faces!
All in all, it was a fantastic vacation at a wonderful vacation rental!!

Our family had the most enjoyable time at this lovely home. It had everything we needed plus!!!! The kitchen is one of the most well stocked we've ever rented and we've been renting homes for vacations for 25 plus years. Loved the view of the lake from the home and especially enjoyed our morning coffee on the dock in the adirondack chairs. I had never kayaked so it was extra special to have the use of kayaks that our whole family enjoyed. Also our dog, had never gone swimming and it was so nice to have him with us. The property was clean and exactly as stated on the website! The layout is perfect for our family! It was very nice to have the downstairs for the young people! The couch downstairs is extremely comfortable and you will fall asleep if you attempt to watch a movie while sitting or as I did laying on it! The owners were the best to work with and we look forward to another vacation at this home!

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Point. Our 2 kids and our dog enjoyed being right on the lake. The house is described accurately in the listing, but is even better when you get there! The new flooring throughout was so beautiful.
This must be the one of the nicest backyards on the lake. It has such a great large dock setup and nice shade trees to enjoy the hammock. Our kids loved jumping into the lake from the deck. The landscaping really adds to the scene too.
We rented a boat and made trips to the dam and to dinner at Mango's and did lots of tubing. We fished right off the backyard dock (my son caught a bass!). The kids enjoyed the arcade and fun things to do at Bridgewater plaza.
This vacation was the perfect combination of relaxation and fun for us.

We did have a bunch of rain and didn't get out on the lake...but we enjoyed the comfort of your home and would love to come back when the sun is shining! The house provided us with everything we needed and is in an idea location. We really enjoyed the sunroom that overlooks the lake and we really appeciate that you are dog-friendly. I almost hate to rave about this place too much, otherwise it might be hard to find availability to rent next time! We've rented at Smith Mountain Lake 4-5 times before and hadn't found a house that met all of our expecations and needs- pet friendly, deep water off dock for swimming, easy stair climbing to and from dock, and awesome water views from the house until this year. Everyone enjoyed it immensley. The house is also located in a nice neighborhood, and walking distance to Virginia Dare marina. The extra bonus was use of their kayaks. No dishwasher- but I had no problem getting around that- everything else was perfect. I would definitely go back.

This was our first visit to SML & certainly not our last ! Your home is beautiful , clean & the setup couldn't have been more perfect. It was located in a quiet cove & neighborhood. Close to supermarkets & around the bend from the marina , which was very convient to load & unload our boat. We had a wonderful time & so did our little lab ( Cody ) couldn't keep him out of the water. Thanks Again & We will be back !
