About this cottage rental

Spacious home with a fully furnished kitchen. We are located on a quiet peninsula on Harpswell Sound, with a beautiful view of the famous Cribstone Bridge. Stover’s Point Beach is a public park just a short walk from the house, and provides great beach walking. Watch the moon rise in the evening from the porch or living room and enjoy the reflection on water. The large yard provides ample opportunity for family gathering and sports play. Our ninety feet of shoreline gives you a ninety foot private rock beach with a bit of sand. Fishing, kayaking and motor-boating are available from nearby merchants. There are numerous good restaurants in the area. High speed Internet with WiFi and 2 televisions with cable service are included. The living room TV has a DVD player. Convenient to the famous Freeport factory outlet stores anchored by the original 24 hour L.L. Bean as well as the historic towns of Brunswick and Bath. Moderate summer temperatures: The cool ocean breeze provides a natural air conditioning for Harpswell coastal homes. In fact the July and August high temperatures tend to be 8 to 10 degrees cooler than they are in the inland towns such as Brunswick.

I loved not being off a busy road but rather tucked back and a short walk from Stover's Cove and so close to Pott's Point which are two favorite spots of ours in Harpswell. Not having a washer or dryer and having to go into Brunswick was a bit of an inconvenience and doing dishes by hand for a family of five wasn't ideal while on vacation. I would however come back year after year if my family can afford it. The location of the lovely house outweighed the other inconveniences. We had a magical week!

The camp was great, we couldn't have asked for anything more. It is very well equipped, clean, and the view was breath taking. Our only regret is that we only reserved it for 1 week.

A mini family reunion united us from Florida, Colorado and Cape Cod for a wonderful week in this idyllic setting. The amenities of the cottage were beyond my expectations. Everything we needed was provided. The living and dining spaces were roomy and comfortable and the many bedrooms were a bonus. The view from the porch was just lovely, the bay and Cribstone Bridge. Other than the single bathroom, we could not have asked for more. We dined at The Sea Dog Brewery in Bath, Cook's Lobster and Ale House on Bailey Island, and Estes Lobster House nearby. Estes is our all time favorite and it has made many improvements to its outside dining since we last went there several years ago. We discovered Popham Beach in Bath, and agree it is the loveliest beach we have ever seen. And, of course, we shopped at Land's End Gift Shop on Bailey Island, a must for any visitor to the area. The weather cooperated and we could not have been a more relaxing week. We would love to make this an annual destination. Chuck and Mary Mott are extraordinary people and we enjoyed getting to know them and their pooch, Lucy. Thank you for your warm hospitality!

We loved the coziness of the home and the view was relaxing. Everything we needed for cooking was provided. There was plenty of space for our family with charming rooms. Loved how close the beach and cove were as we spent many hours there. We had a hard time saying goodbye. We especially loved the book selection, there were helpful books about the area and some good reads overall. As I am writing this review my boys are looking at the picture of the house, here are some of their comments, "Can we move back into that house?" "Oh, I am already home sick!"
