Situated in Tučepi, this attractive house for $301 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Modern villa (built in 2018) located in Gornji Tucepi (Srida Sela) on the edge of the Biokovo Natural Park, 300 meters above sea level with spectacular views of the islands of Brac, Hvar, the Makarska Riviera coast as well as Biokovo mountain. 5 minutes by car from the sea shore and the city of Makarska. The property consists of a two-storey building of 153 square meters with 1 living room (with dining area and kitchen built), 1 study, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has 2 terraces of 40 and 60 square meters on the ground floor and high respectively. and a garage for two vehicles. It also has a Mediterranean garden and a 35 square meter pool with sea views. TV, internet, fully equipped kitchen are also available. Very close to the church of San Antonio in the old town of Gornji Tucepi, it is located in a very quiet area. Mountain routes and mountain biking to the Biokovo Park pass near the property. The beaches of Tucepi and Podgora are 5 and 6 respectively minute drive through a beautiful route. DESCRIPTION OF PLACES OF INTEREST IN THE ENVIRONMENT Split Split can find the Palace of Diocletian in Split city is a jewel with its narrow streets full of life and Peristil, ancient forum of the palace and the cathedral (temple consecrated oldest in Christendom). Recommended the restaurant of the Club Nautico with excellent fruits of the sea. Near Split, about 20km to the north, is the Venetian villa Trogir and the Roman ruins of Salona on the outskirts of the city (3km). Hvar and Korcula Islands Accessible by ferry on journeys between 30 and 45 minutes, one every half hour, or charter boats with skipper (avoid organized tourist excursions: with little time, noisy and crowded). In Hvar the Venetian villa of the same name has a spectacular fortress, a charming port and is stocked with restaurants with excellent fish. Korcula, the city of origin of the explorer Marco Polo is located in a spectacular channel between the island and the Peljesac peninsula. In it the feast of the Moreska (- Spain- like and seemingly imported from the Moors and Christians Valencia) takes place. The Shrine of Medjugorje Pilgrimage center since 1989 is located in Bosnia & Herzegovina about 60 km from Tucepi, on it the mountain of the apparitions of the Virgin and the cathedral. The city of Mostar Small town of Ottoman origin with its very well reconstructed old bridge (Stari Most) destroyed during the Balkan War. The old district with restaurants specializing purely Ottoman Turkish-Bosnian cuisine. Especially recommended hear the call to prayer both Christian churches and Muslim mosques at dusk. Dubrovnik The Pearl of the Adriatic whose old city is all it spectacular. Especially interesting are the walls of 3 km surrounded by ¾ by the sea, the original pharmacy the SXIII, the Franciscan and the Palace monastery of the Rector (ruler of the ancient Ragusa), its old port and arsenal, today turned into Café Citizen (Gradska Kavana). Between July and August celebrates a rich and renowned cultural festival, the Dubrovnik Summer Games concerts, theatrical performances and interesting exhibitions. Avoid the hours of landing of tourists from the many cruise ships, the best times to visit the city are early morning or sunset. In the north lies the door, excellent if a little expensive Nautika restaurant. Peljesac Peninsula At about 60km from Tucepi, at its entrance is the city of Ston that border between the republics of Ragusa and Venice with a couple of excellent restaurants specializing in seafood at the foot of the walls and near the salt marshes of Roman origin. The peninsula hosts dramatic landscapes with cliffs that fall to 700 meters above the sea, hidden beaches and natural harbors vineyards and olive groves centenarians. These include some small wineries of very good quality such as Dingac, Madirazza or Grgic in towns like Potomje and Trstenik. Natural Park Biokovo The Biokovo mountain range has a height of 1,780 meters at its highest peak (Sveti Jure) which can be accessed by car from the house in less than 30 minutes. From here you can see the Italian coast on clear days and the natural park contains the remains of partisan presence during World War II and a traditional restaurant with delicious roast lamb specialties (janjetina) and Dalmatian ham (prsut). Makarska and Podgora They are two small coastal towns 5 and 6 minutes respectively Tucepi by car. Surrounded by transparent water beaches, with promenades full of light and stillness and small taverns (konoba) where you can appreciate the local atmosphere. From these ferries to the islands and charter boats; also it offers multiple services water skiing, diving and water sports. In Gornji Tucepi The small church of San Antonio and the watchtower of Buselic preside over the small hamlet which forms the center of the village (Srida Sela), other distant villages between 500 and 1 000m up Gornji Tucepi, walking tours to them through terraces Cypress forests and forests are highly recommended at sunrise and sunset. About 100 meters from the house are the restaurants Veza (with traditional specialties) and Jenny (recently awarded a Michelin star).

We got to stay at Vila Almar for a 3-weeks "workation" in April/May 2022 and had a wonderful time! The house is both cosy and spacious for 6 guests easily - the two of us could use the entire upstairs floor as our "away-from-home office". The kitchen is fully equipped and there are two terraces to enjoy both the mountain view (right up to the Biokovo Skywalk) to the one side and the coastline vista to the other, with Hvar and Brač island looking (disceptively!) close. For anyone as unfamiliar with the Croatian mountain landscapes like ourselves: Note that while it is just a 35mins walk from the house to the pebble beaches of Makarska, it takes you down a steep slope which makes the return a rather advanced-cardio hike - or taxi drive. There are plenty of opportunities for grocery shopping and going out within a short car drive and several restaurants within walking distance (although those were still closed when we visited before the main season). Manuel and his family must receive special mention as hosts! They were there to greet us in person when we arrived, welcoming us as guests to their home - not as customers to a hotel. Senka came by during our stay to take care of the garden plants and bring a change of sheets. Manuel was always available for questions and kindly checked in on us when he heard there had been an earthquake in the area. We felt really at home and greatly enjoyed exploring Croatia from our homebase at Almar.

Dream holiday in a wonderful house
Dream holiday in a wonderful house
We had an absolutely wunderful stay in this beautiful house and spend a dream holiday. Everything was just perfect - from the first contact with the owner to the check out. House Almar is situated in the mountains with an amazing view to the sea with the islands of Brac and Hvar. Out of the bedroom windows or just directly from the terrace, you can see the blue water every morning and enjoy breathtaking sunsets - just the best thing to start and end a day. Just in the middle of a mountain village we enjoyed the quiet surroundings and met friendly people living there. The House is absolutely lovely and stylish furnished, so that one can just feel like home. Everything you need to cook is ready to use in the kitchen. Everything was new and super super clean. The terrace and the pool is the best place to calm down from the everyday stress. The owner of the house is very kind and always reachable, also the lovely woman who cares for the visitors of the house. We stayed nearly two weeks and it was very hard to leave our new preferred holiday destination. Just take the chance to spend your holiday in House Almar and plan to stay for long - you will surely be thrilled! Thank you so much Manuel, for having us as guests. We will definately come back!
