We spent 1 week in Doris's lovely loft apartment. It was convenient and within walking distance of the train station & bus station (5 minute walk), the farmers market & a grocery store, a 10 minute walk to the harbor. This apartment was perfectly located. It is a loft apartment & there is no elevator in the building so it's 58 steps up to the apartment. Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, AC worked well, internet was fast and the kitchen was well stocked. Doris was a very gracious & generous host. Thank you Doris for all the nice goodies you left for us including homemade jam. I have stayed in many apartments that this apartment was the best well stocked apartment that I have ever stayed in. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

This was a beautiful place to stay in Cascais. It had a terrific layout for families and all the amenities you’d want for a beach vacation. It’s steps away from great restaurants, the beach, and the train to get into Lisbon. And Doris was friendly and always accessible - she even went out her way to get us a ring my daughter left behind. If this apartment meets your space needs, look no further.

We could not have been more impressed with Doris's beautiful home. It provided us with the perfect romantic nesting place for celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. The top floor location felt secluded enough in the busy city of Cascais, but we also felt close to all of the action. The temperatures during our stay were seasonably warm, but the AC units kept the home cool and comfortable. We truly appreciated Doris's special touches to help us feel more at home, as she had stocked the kitchen with basic amenities including fruit, milk (including nondairy), and a lovely bottle of local wine. We were sad to leave!! Would absolutely stay again if we ever have the chance. Thank you for your hospitality, Doris!

You simply will not find a more cozy, charming, well-stocked, clean, conveniently-located home anywhere in Cascais! And as far as hosts go—- DORIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST! I felt like I was staying at the home of a close friend because Doris was so invested in my happiness as her guest. Pre- arrival communication was clear, helpful, and friendly. And during my stay, I texted her several times with various questions about Cascais and she was always happy to help. We even met for coffee! Our return home was delayed by a day when my son got a bad stomach virus. I felt completely supported and cared for by Doris at a time when I would have otherwise felt quite stressed. She’s just so genuinely kind! I should also offer details about my experience in the loft itself. I LOVED the decor— especially the turquoise in the master bedroom. And the slanted ceilings and skylights throughout. It’s VERY spacious. Quite long from one end to the other. And all the rooms have more places to store your belongings than you could ever use. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. And Doris left some welcome goodies so I felt right at home the moment I arrived. I couldn’t wait to come back to the loft at the end of the day where I felt perfectly content in every way. And the beds are soooo comfortable. The terrace is a bonus. We watched New Years fireworks out there and it was magical. The train is about a five minute easy walk. And it runs all day taking you right to Lisbon in about 35 minutes.. So easy and inexpensive too!! My favorite part of staying in Cascais was the promenade between Cascais and Estoril that goes all along the water. You can begin right behind the train station. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful! Anyone who enjoys a morning run or walk will be in heaven. The loft is also in easy walking distance to every type of restaurant. My favorites were Hifen and Your Healthy Kitchen and El Caminito (best meal of the stay was at El Caminito suggested by Doris! The Argentinian steaks are to die for!). We also rode the Ferris wheel and enjoyed the Christmas markets just a block or two away. I can’t say enough about the perfection of my stay in the Cascais Loft and my host, Doris. She really cares about her guests’ experiences and you will feel it the moment you walk in. You will feel spoiled by the amount of space and the surroundings and the ease with which you can do anything you like. This is the best VRBO experience I ever had!

Wonderful stay! Four of us. Location was very close to the train which was nice. Doris was very communicative and helped us find the place when our maps didn’t quite get us there.

It was perfect in every way...friendly helpful hostess, accommodation spotlessly clean, well-equipped, in a central location and ideal for our family group ranging in age from 3 to 74! Although there were a lot of stairs to climb it was well worth the effort - we can thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Heaven!
Possibly the most glorious accommodation experience of my life!! My co-worker & I stayed here for 2 weeks prepping for a product launch for our company. We were mostly inside the apartment working instead of sightseeing. It's a big, beautiful space with a kitchen with possibly everything you could need for cooking. I generally only stay in hotels, largely due to convenience. I am now a convert because of this experience! Our host really seemed to care about our experience and making sure our desires were met. She even left a few gifts for us upon arrival. I won't ruin the surprise for you, but I can say it was delicious ;)
Wifi worked perfectly. Washing machine worked perfectly. I will say, I was super surprised about the ease of the remote check-in & the lock on the apartment. I could get in with a key or with an app, and it locked automatically when I shut the door. I felt super safe.
Good for families. A master bedroom, a smaller single room, and then a bigger room with twin beds. The master bedroom is my favorite. The windows & the blinds allow a black-out curtain affect if light bothers you while sleeping.
I'm considering returning to this very home. I miss it each day :) I did end up sightseeing for a few of my last days, and it's conveniently located to everything. Just a couple minutes away from central Cascais. My co-worker would walk to the beach each morning, just a few minutes away.

The apartment is lovely and charming with all the cumfort needed. We stayed with 2 kids and Doris gave us all the furniture for them.
The apartment have a perfect location next to the beach, the city center and the shops.
Doris is the best host you can imagine : she gave us all the information before the stay, she was reactive, really helfull and sympathic !

Excellent stay
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Doris is an 1+ host that really cares about people and their experience. The place was equipped with everything you could imagine and Doris took time to chat with us. And of course she left her spectacular jam in the fridege for us!

Our short vacation
We enjoyed our stay in the loft and found it very amenable as a base for visiting Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra. Our hostess was eager to see that we were accommodated well and we appreciated the wine and beer left for us in the fridge and of course her home made jam!

Lovely stay
The Loft is a superb place to stay, ideally located near to all that Cascais has to offer, and extremely comfortable with everything that you need for your holiday. Doris is an excellent host for whom nothing is too much trouble and really makes sure that you enjoy your stay, we would very much like to return soon.

Loft has lots of light and everything one would need for a great stay--including beach umbrellas and sand toys! Doris is a fantastic host--from lining up airport pickup to filling the fridge with all sorts of essentials--butter, milk, fruit, wine, and homemade jam. She goes above and beyond.

Fantastic host
We stayed in the loft for9 nights in June. Doris could not do more for us from arranging the pickup from the airport to meet and greet at the apartment. The Loft was specced out to high standard with everything you could need for your break. The location was very near to 3 of the main Cascais beaches as well as supermarkets, bars, shops etc. The only very small downside is the Loft is situated at a junction of main road and during the rush hour in the mornings you do get road noise. That aside it did not spoil our holiday as the weather complimented the loft and we both came back fitter due to the 4 flights of stairs up to the Loft (this is a positive)

We had the most pleasant and enjoyable time. The loft is perfect and fitted our expectations. We felt at home from the moment we entered until the day we left. We actually did not want to leave.
We will be back for summer.

Doris and her apartment are amazing!!!!
Doris commitment to making her guest stay incredible can not be beat. This started before we even arrived in Portugal. From her quickly responding to email questions, to arranging taxi services to and from airport. Doris was on top of the airlines when our luggage was lost. I cannot speak highly enough about Doris. Her apartment in Cascias was perfect for our family and she has equipped it very well. Lastly the welcoming package was a great touch (please remember to send recipe of the jam). Please do not hesitate to rent any of the properties Doris has, as she really cares about your happiness on your vacation.

Wonderful, spacious, central apartment
This is a beautiful and spacious apartment right in the heart of Cascais. It is exceptionally well-equipped with all kinds of extra touches; we needed to buy very little other than a few groceries. Doris is a wonderful host and had fresh bread, milk, and wine waiting for us (and home-made jam, about which my children are still talking!) which was much appreciated after an early flight. The apartment is spotlessly clean and the air-conditioning works well, as do all the appliances. It was so handy to have a washing machine and dishwasher. Overall it is airy and light and suitable for families or larger groups.
The apartment is up several flights of stairs so this would need to be considered if anyone had mobility problems or, for example, a stroller or pram. But it kept us a little fitter! It is very central and this is really helpful, but because of this there is also some street noise and occasionally music from a nearby café/bar, but this doesn't go on too late.
We would highly recommend this apartment - and its owner!

The Loft looks exactly as it appears in the photos. It is on the 4th floor of a busy street that is also perfectly situated to access Cascais’ city center in a matter of minutes. The Loft is a walk-up, so be aware. For us, that turned out to be perfect, we wanted the exercise and it quickly became no big deal. We never heard a peep out of any of the apartments below!
We were a bit concerned about noise from the street, and there was some traffic noise (it just so happened that we were there when the soccer team won a significant victory so there was, for a short period of time, a cacophony of chanting and horn-blowing, but it was over by 10 pm). However, neither of us found street noise to be a deterrent. I am pretty sensitive to noise, and I had forgotten about it after the first or second night. The windows in the Loft are located in the slanted ceilings and face up into the trees, a configuration that tends to minimize or deflect street noise.
After arranging for a wonderful driver to collect us at the airport (highly recommended by the way, cost about 40 Euros total), the owner was there to meet us (she is delightful, had been very accommodating prior to our arrival when I had all kinds of crazy questions and she answered each one via email, and she speaks perfect English, in case that matters to you). She gave us a thorough orientation and was off. The information binder in the apartment contains everything you need to know about the Loft.
The train station is literally a five minute walk and gets you into Lisbon in about 45 minutes, max. Be sure to ask the train personnel about whether you need to change trains in the town of Oieras when you buy your tickets to Lisbon; it seemed that you needed to change trains on weekdays but not weekends, but I never completely figured that out. If the train station personnel won’t help you, just ask any of the Portuguese people, they speak gorgeous English (although I have some Portuguese and used it whenever I could) and they are warm and gracious people, very proud to have you in their country. From the start of booking the apartment to leaving the apartment, everything has been superb. The owner is polite, professional, helpful, and an excellent maker of jam.
The apartment itself is perfectly located in Cascais, five minutes from everywhere you need to be, perfectly proportioned for 3 single single travellers, however you could easily reside 8 in the property. All the consciences you need and all the equipment required. You can't beat breakfast on the balcony with bread from the small bakery and fruit from the market (all one minutes walk from apartment).
As with all older buildings the electrics occasionally tripped (mainly when washing machine was on) and in the summer months a few ants wander around, despite the best efforts of the owner and ourselves. We expected this is a building of age and character. It in no way diminishes from the benefits and stunning nature of the apartment. Manage your expectations people!
The owner is superb, jam, bread and wine on arrival, clean sheets during our stay and taxi transfers all arranged and provided. Thank you for a great two weeks!

The owner has gone to a lot of trouble to make this apartment comfortable and being situated in the room, gives it an added character with all its quirky roof lines and more cupboard space than you could ever need!
The outside balcony, whilst small, was just perfect for those days when we just wanted to laze around doing nothing. We were there for 2 weeks and could easily have stayed another 2 weeks!
The only slight negative we found was that there was no air-conditioning in the third (smallest) bedroom. Whilst this was not an issue during our first week as the temperatures were in the mid-20Cs, it became a problem in our second week when the temperatures soared to 38C. The guests using that room were unable to sleep in it and we had to move the mattress out to the living room. Perhaps a fan in that room might make a big difference?
But that was a very minor issue and we had such a fantastic time that we will not hesitate to go back. Huge thanks to Doris and Mark who made us feel so welcome and for arranging the treats on our arrival.
