About this condo rental
Nestled in Spenard, this attractive condo for $163 per night is a great choice for your next break. NOTE: Roosevelt Center Vacation Rentals have reopened to accommodate our past, present, and future customers. We have truly missed accommodating your vacation needs. Alaska has been one of the greatest experiences that we have had in the great out-of-doors adventure. We love to fish, hunt, camp, backpack, walk, boating, biking and many other amenities that Alaska offers that are within minutes of our property. We would love to accommodate you at Roosevelt Center, Inc. Our property is fully equipped for our guest. The property resides on little over an acre of land which is unique for the Anchorage area. Laundry facilities are located on the property for your convenience. From the South side (balcony side) of the property is a large greenbelt with a shallow creek 'Fish Creek' drainage that runs through it and a short lighted walking/bike path. On the North side of the property or front is a large yard with sitting areas, parking areas, and a municipal park directly in front of the property -- just across the street. The greatest features of this propery is serenity quieness and safety. Large balcony faces a large green belt to the South of the property. The apartment is large (approximately 1000-1200 square feet) with lots of open space in the dining/living/kitchen areas. The bedrooms are nice and spacious. The community is an older well developed neighborhood mostly consisting of apartment buildings and some single family homes. We take great pride in our property and our summer flower garden are absolutely gorgeous. Please inquire concerning availability. Our calendar is not always accurate due to cancellations and postings.

This property was amazing. We were very comfortable and would definitely choose to stay here for many years to come. The rooms were great size and it was furnished well for our needs. the pool table was a big hit with my husband and brother. My 1 year old son could wander around and out onto the balcony with no problems and we felt that he was safe. We were allowed to check in even tho our flight got in around 2 am and able to check out when our flight left at 12:20 am. Staff was amazing, very helpful and very nice. It was the best place we have ever stayed in and theres no way we would stay anywhere else on our future summer trips!

Absolutely wonderful!
This place is perfect for anyone! My family loves it there it is a wonderful home away from home! It is just a few minute drive to many many tourist attractions the management was so friendly! They gave us lots of ideas and places to take the kids! She even offered my children bicycles! Next year for our summer stay I will come back to the same place it is definitly worth it! Thank you for giving my family a home away from their home! Until next year! :)

Our stay at this apartment was very comfortable and relaxing. The apartment was very nicely decorated, cozy and clean. Mary and Tom were very nice and extremely helpful. They were very prompt in providing us with all our needs. They were also very flexible with Check In and Checkout time as well.
For families with kids this is a great place to stay as there is a big backyard and a park where kids can play and a great alternative to Hotel. The location is great as well as its very close to the airport as well as the main city.

I loved the rental. Here is my review of the property. Decoration was great plus the flat screen TV and internet access. I brought my computer with me and when I was ready to get onto the internet, I requested a passcode and it was provided right away. There is a laundry so bring some quarters but it is the down stairs with easy access from the rear deck 10:00a-10:00p .The wood floors and leather furniture wiuth the electric fireplaces was very cozy and comfortable. What I thought was good it has a full kitchen. So basically you get a 2 bed-room apartment and it is not crowded at all. Strange but bigger than the apartments. I have been in.Excellent space since I live in a large home in the south. I guess the building property is considered older but everything in Alaska is. It’s been updated, so it shows they built every-thing big back then. Compare to the tiny two bedrooms of today. There is all the dishes and pots and pans you’ll need just buy some groceries and you can cook some good Alaskan fish. Though I caught none the fishing experience was superb. Alaska is bright but I thought it was cool that it was always daylight a mystery to Alaska uniqueness. The long daylight allowed us to see a lot that Alaska has to offer. The daylight was not a problem. Something different but neat was that there was entry code for the main door and a box for me to get my key when I arrived and place it when I left or I could have left it on the mantel. I arrived about three hours early than was expected so I couldn’t immediately get in though I tried . They had emailed the codes and instructions, but my brain was working on hotel mode. Someone standing at a desk, but this was like going into your own apartment. So, I grabbed some Japanese food from a place around the corner like a little diner. I returned and saw Mary she was putting the key in the lock box. Still 2 hours for check- In. She let us go in early. That was great. Because I think now they must put key in close to check in which makes sense. Great decorations with the comforters and colors and was very clean considering my germ a phobia. Bed sleeps good and Mary was very friendly and if I had any questions on how to get somewhere gave great great instructions. I would recommend. Grills outside to cook on so my family and I enjoyed our stay.

Received e-mail quote of one price. When we went to confirm, owner would not honor it saying the e-mail was sent by a "teenager," and offered a price $21 per night higher. We reluctantly agreed.
It took 3 phone calls on the day of arrival to establish time to pick up keys, and 3 more once we were in to get internet password. Not very responsive.
There are no blackout shades or blinds on windows, so on long summer days bedrooms are very bright and sleep might be a problem.
Building dates to 1965 and has some nice updates, but at shows its age with squeaky and uneven floors, and very old bathroom fixtures.
No air conditioning or fans -- Anchorage can get quite warm at times.
We had a late flight on our checkout day, and though the contract actually said our checkout day was the following day, we were asked to leave or pay extra although one of the owners had said we could stay late. The excuse: the contract date was wrong due to "human error." Especially after the rate quote problem, this was the last straw. Business owners need to take responsibility for their communications and put the customer first.
Prospective renters should obtain a copy of the contract in advance, and study it. If possible, visit the property before committing. Though it is on an attractive lot, it is surrounded by an area you may not feel comfortable walking in. Get all details agreed to in writing in advance. If you don't like the place once you're in it, the contract requires you to pay anyway.

We were a party of 6 including 2 toddlers and stayed here for a week. The apartment was very well decorated and had all basic amenities and it was a very comfortable stay for us. The patio was great. The park in front of the property was very useful for the toddlers to play around. Moreover the owners were very nice. They were very helpful and attended to our needs so promptly. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in anchorage and explore nearby drivable attractions. We would definitely like to stay here again if we travel to alaska again..which i am sure we will..

Very nice place to live and explore alaska..

Nicely Decorated!
We were pleasantly surprized at how nicely decorated the inside of the apartment was. It was cute, comfortable and clean. The tv was huge! Thank you Mary for such nice accomadations. We will defenetely recommend you to others. Hope t o see you again soon.
