Party hardy at Mad Monkey Cebu City

My stay at Mad Monkey Cebu City was nothing short of fun. The hostel's vibrant atmosphere and welcoming staff made my experience unforgettable. Special shout-out to Kaye, Yann, Maine, and Sanie for their exceptional hospitality and warm welcome. Their friendly demeanor and helpfulness truly enhanced my stay. From the lively social events to the comfortable accommodations, Mad Monkey exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Cebu City.

Something to keep in mind and expected this to begin with being a party hostel, but stayed in a private room on the 4th floor where I could hear music/partying from the 5th floor - This wasn't a hindrance, the earplugs provided at check-in definitely helped.

Hostel lleno de prostitutas y mala ubicación. Imposible dormir.

Hostel lleno de prostitutas, que dormían en la misma habitación compartida, estuvieron toda la noche viendo videos en sonido alto, entrando y saliendo de la habitación y vomitando, fui varias veces a la recepción a comentarles la situación y no hicieron nada. Más allá del ruido, no pude dormir porque no era un lugar de confianza. La ubicación es en un mal lugar, que ellos mismos recomiendan no salir caminando de noche.

L’endroit idéal pour faire la fête, rencontrer des locaux et créer des souvenirs inoubliables! Je vous recommande!

Les différents événements à tout les soirs, la musique, l’ambiance de party et le personnel attachant.

Installations très basique pour le prix, comparativement aux autres établissements que nous avons visité. Mon copain a sentit qu’un membre du personnel a rit de lui à un moment et comme il vient de l’hôtellerie, il a trouver le comportement inacceptable. Toutefois, c’était un cas isolé et le personnel a été bienveillant tout au long du séjour, sauf pour cet événement isolé.

I liked that there were many activities offered from the hostel! Definitely liked the staff they were always kind and welcoming!:) also the rooms were clean and with the rooftop you have a great place to hangout and relax.

Everything was fine, been staying there already a couple of times and i always enjoyed the stay!

Fun & social but not the cleanest and bad organisation

Great location, excellent rooftop bar, very social and great people! Lockers and beds are relatively comfy.

Showers not the cleanest, rats and cockroaches about and the front of the hostel has a lot of rubbish and smells of sewage. Food isn’t great. Also went for sinulog festival and the organisation was terrible - the reps brought us way too late so we missed the parade and we had to find the hot spots ourselves!

Trop cher et bryant

Bien pour faire la fête, c'était propre, option végétarienne bonne.

Très cher pour ce que c'est. Le restaurant est bryant, on ne peut pas avoir une discussion. La literie est mauvaise. Pas d'ascenseurs, pour monter les bagages c'est compliqué.

Wouldn’t stay again

Location is fine and the hostel is clean.

The were drunk people puking and shouting all night in my dorm, I couldn’t sleep until 4am. And the music never stopped. I stayed at the 2nd floor and even I could hear the music (You must bring earplugs). Maybe it’s only me and they may have a nice party on top but just don’t stay there unless you want to get wasted. Just stay at somewhere else and come here for partying only.

The room was extremely damp and water was dripping of the floor as well as the walls. Room was extremely small and the bathroom was stinking.

Hat absolut den Erwartungen entsprochen. Perfekt für Cebu City Sightseeing.

Allgemein gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Es ist ein Partyhostel wer sich eine ruhige Umgebung wünscht ist hier falsch. Wer gerne Kontakt zu anderen Reisenden hat und/oder sucht ist hier genau richtig. Ebenfalls jeder der Cebu City erkunden möchte ist hier aufgrund der zentralen Lage bestens aufgehoben. Preis-Leistung sehr gut!

Allgemein gibt es quasi nichts auszusetzen, allein die Musik im Restaurant/Bar am Dach ist so laut dass man sich dort leider kaum unterhalten kann. Hat ein bisschen Club-Atmosphäre da oben :)

Mein Aufenthalt war wirklich gut und ich würde die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und selber wiederkommen :)

Die Unterkunft ist sehr komfortabel und sauber. Dir Mitarbeiter im ganzen Hostel sind wirklich alles sehr freundliche und offene Menschen, die einen den Aufenthalt mit der Art und Weise verschönern.

Der Wasserdruck der Dusche ist leider nicht sehr stark und manchmal der Lärm von der Straße ziemlich laut im Zimmer zu hören

Feels like a big home, chill and cool nightlife

MadMonkey is a like a big home very welcoming but still a lot of privacy for every room. The rooftop with the bar, where you can swim, play beerpong or pool. Super chill but with an party ambiance. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to Pedro who helped us for the rest of our trip, a real gem !

Nothing that was due to the hostel, some roasters singing anytime during the night but it’s part of the Philippines !

Absolutely a friendly staffs, very helpful! The room is okay, though if you kept the A-con on all the time your floor and wall is going to be wet. They also got tours to offer for your day activities. They got different night activities for you to join so you won’t be bored cause there is nothing in Cebu lol! If you’re not a party person or a deep sleeper won’t recommend this place. Overall for me if you’re heading to Cebu this place is a must 😜 thank you for making my stay fun! Xx

Exceptional

The rooftop bar is amazing, there is something to do every night. The rooms are clean and the staff is super friendly and helpfull !. The place just make's you feel euphoric I enjoyed my stay here alot!

Great Value; Just noisy.

Great value for an overnight stop. They have a nightly activity that keep their guests engaged. A place to meet new people!

It was too noisy. Even if the activity was already happening at the 5th floor, we could still hear everything from the 3rd floor. Good thing they give ear plugs. The girl who served us lunch at the 5th floor seems to not know the food the restaurant offers and wasn’t attentive at all.

A good enough stay, but not a great location. Great for young party lovers.

There is a cafe downstairs where one can sit in relative peace and quiet to have a meal, and catch up on work/emails. They have a restaurant on the premises with interesting food ranging from healthy to indulgent. The rooftop restaurant wasn't for me, but I can see the appeal for young party-loving travelers.

Admittedly, I am not the right type of customer for Mad Monkey. They promote a culture of parties and drinking. If that's your vibe, then go for it! Don't choose the double room with bunk beds - it is like an insane asylum. It can be loud as the music from the rooftop makes it down into the rooms and typically drunk neighbors noisily make their way back to their rooms at 3 AM. But that's what you sign up for at Mad Monkey! Not the best location in my opinion - if you want to explore from there, you need to get a taxi/Grab car (or Jeepney if you're able to navigate it)

Well I was probably the oldest person there but they made me feel young and made me feel very excepted,I love that it's open 24 hours, and it was a great place to meet people from all over,

love the rooftop bar, the staff are so friendly and accommodating. has a really nice family feel to the place, perfect for someone travelling on their own wanting to meet new people. I felt very comfortable and safe. thanks guys
