Our family booked this villa for two weeks in September 2023. The view is clearly beautiful, but I am afraid everything else is a disaster. The major issue with this property is an issue with the sanitation and septic tank. The entire property smells of sewage for much of the day and in addition has a mosquito infestation. Our two year old son was bitten more than thirty times over the first two days after which we kept him inside. Issues with mosquitos and sanitation are known to be major health risks. Further, smaller issues include: - Air conditioning not working in the bedrooms - Blinds not fully shutting - Electrical wires hanging from the ceiling - Plug sockets and appliances not working - Cluttered house full of personal items - Poorly cleaned - No spare bedding - A dangerously mounted curtain rail which fell onto us when opening curtains - stained and old furniture - poor internet reliability and limited wifi reach - the garden was completely overgrown with plants growing out of the drainage areas of the balcony - Child pool safety gates that don't close - Broken and damaged pool furniture On explaining these issues to the owner, Aurora was initially helpful, arranging for the septic tank to be drained and promising to address some of the other problems. The draining of the septic tank helped for a few days but after that the smell and mosquitoes were back. None of the other issues were addressed. After explaining we were leaving early, Aurora stopped responding.

Overall, I will share that the our stay was lovely. Aurora and her team were attentive and overall accommodating. They allowed us to check in early and gave us a warm welcome. The house is incredibly clean and the view is absolutely incredible. That being said, overall, the house does feel a little bit run down. The pool area had some broken banisters overlooking the view, the door to the bathroom in the master was broken, and just generally could use a bit of upkeep. There is unfortunately still a smell in the master bedroom that we believe was coming from the sewage. It wasn’t there all the time but particularly bad in the mornings and at night when going to sleep (not ideal). Something to note for future guests is to rent a small car! We had a Tiguan but if we had anything bigger we would have had trouble on the road to get to the house. Not a negative just an fyi! Lastly, the view is spectacular and truly made the trip special. But, because we are so far away from the sea, there is definitely a mosquito problem. We would spend our mornings and evenings on the porch and would have to have towels over us at all times in trying to avoid getting bitten. The last night we ended up staying inside as at that point we all had so many bug bites. The house does provide bug spray and candles to assist with this but we found that they did not help much.

Auroras property is beautiful. Originally, I was concerned because of all the negative reviews that had been written but I can affirm that the air conditioning units are new and work very well. The only thing that interrupted our stay was that the pool water heater was not working properly. However; Aurora was very considerate and found a way to compensate us me and my family for the inconvenience. Overall, the property is very well kept, in great location, and offers astonishing views. I look forward to returning.

This was meant to be a trip of a lifetime with family and friends. We rented the house for an ENTIRE MONTH as a magical journey with our parents for their last trip to Europe in their lifetimes. I had seen good reviews when I booked the villa, but about a week before our trip, I saw a negative review about non-working air conditioning. I contacted the owner directly and explained that my elderly parents (87 and 82) needed air conditioning for their health and well-being. Aurora assured me that everything was great and the previous guest's review had been wrong. It was not wrong. Upon arrival, we were met by Natalie who showed us the thermostat and asked us not to turn it below the 22•C/72•F it was set at. It did not feel cool in the house but we assumed she had just turned it on. We waited two days but then contacted Aurora to say the air conditioning was not working. Temperatures quickly rose to 31.5•C/90•F inside and with the humidity, the heat index was well over 100•F. The house was uninhabitable. Night times were the worst. We put fans in open doors but, without screens, that brought in swarms of mosquitoes. When the handyman showed up (3 days later) to deal with both the air conditioning and the smell of sewage in our bedrooms, he said "This is normal." My husband had to show him that the condensors for the a/c weren't working and, judging by their condition, hadn't been for quite some time. Long story short, after 10 days my brother took my parents home. They left exhausted, dehydrated and covered in bug bites. While Aurora finally found someone to install new air conditioners (they didn't even bother trying to fix the old ones which says something), it was too late for my parents. We will never get that time or trip with them again. In addition to the a/c, there is a chronic drainage issue as evidenced by the mold smell and water damage in the basement. You can't do two consecutive loads of laundry or the floor drain overflows. It also made the dishwasher inoperable (Error Code E15). We handwashed dishes the entire month. We also had an intruder in the house one night (our friends chased him out) which I texted Aurora about, but no response. In closing, the house looks beautiful with stunning views, but (while clean) it is neglected with lots of broken items listed as amenities. VRBO is based on mutual trust and respect. This experience was demoralizing. Not worth the money and effort. We were misled entirely.

We were greeted by Natalie who showed us around the villa. It was immaculate with incredible views but very hot. She explained that someone would come in 2 days time to fix the “climatisation”. The owner visited later that eve with a portable air conditioning unit (which required constant ice being placed in the top) and a gift. She apologised, confirming that someone would be along to fix the problem. A plumber and an air con specialist came as arranged and stayed for 4 hours. They explained that the 2 units in the living area/kitchen worked but we’re not large enough to cool the volume of space there and that they couldn’t fix the master bedrooms air conditioner. All the other bedrooms air conditioning worked partially and we had portable fans which helped but were noisy. The basement did have functioning air con and was cool. We complained to the owner who was obviously upset by this situation. She asked us how she could help but it was clear that no matter how many portable fans we used in the kitchen/lounge it wasn’t enough to cool the space. It remained at 27.5 degrees during the daytime and evening throughout our weeks holiday. This meant we could find no respite during the hottest part of the day unless we chose to go down to the basement. There were no further attempts to fix the air conditioning in the villa. We felt disappointed and misled as the description for Villa Aurora says it includes air conditioning. Our stay was overshadowed by this.

Beautiful property, with incredible views of the bay and lots of great outdoor space for swimming/lounging/dining. We had some minor issues with appliances not working, but was manageable

The house was fairly represented in the photos and the view was beautiful. However, it was clear upon check in that the air conditioning was not working. We were given excuses and assurances that it would cool off, but it was clearly not functional. We then had to text back and forth with the owner over our entire 5 day stay with assurances that it was fixed (it was not) and then no answer about when it could be fixed. We would never have booked a place without AC, so this made our time there very uncomfortable. We could not sleep well or spend much time in the house. 2 days in they told us there was a separate AC in the basement which they then turned on, but that only cooled the basement. Additionally, this house is located on a very remote and narrow road, so no taxis and ubers wanted to come to us. We ended up needing to rent a car, which was not easy to drive in and out. So, if you want to stay at the house the whole time and not go anywhere, and you don't mind no working AC, this is the place for you. Also the dryer completely broke as we were washing our clothes right before we left.....

Our family will never forget our time here. Aurora and her husband welcomed us so warmly with some treats and a great tour of her property. The home had many thoughtful conveniences throughout and we had everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout the rooms. The decor of the home was super bright and clean, also very accommodating with some games for the children. The views are the spectacular takeaway here because they are just magnificent at every turn and the home really showcases that. Our family enjoyed our time by the pool drinking in the views of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Nice on the coast while just a mere 10 minutes drive to hilltop tons like Eze. We explored lots of nearby towns so it made for a great home-base. We would highly recommend this property to anyone considering a place to stay in the area - excellent food nearby and Aurora is very thoughtful and communicative, able to offer so many recommendations for eateries that were spot-on! We 100% enjoyed our stay and thank our host for an incredible time.
