About this house rental
Looking for a great summer vacation? This charming beach house is located on shady lot and quiet street in Ocean Lakes. Queen bed in master bedroom, twin in second bedroom, queen size and 2 single sleeper sofas in living area allow you to sleep 7! Sheets and linens included. Well equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, range, oven, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender, etc. Tub/shower in bath. Large family room with TV/DVD/VCR and stereo system. House has covered front deck with ceiling fan and breakfast table. Additional outside dining on shaded side deck with picnic table. Parking available for 2 cars plus golf car.
NEW (2019) central heat and air. Freshly painted interior and exterior. Carpets professionally cleaned. House is professionally cleaned between each rent cycle.
Ocean Lakes is everything you could ask for in a family vacation. It has almost a mile of beach and is a gated community/resort with all the amenities you will need. The brand new water park features amenities that you would find at local water parks…but is FREE to Ocean Lakes guests. The park includes tall Mat Racer slide, Tube Slide, Lazy River and Pirate Themed kids splash zone. The recreation area also has an Olympic-size outdoor pool, an indoor heated pool, a snack shop that serves fast food and ice cream, shaded picnic areas, and lots of room for sunbathing. Putt putt golf course adjoins water park area.
Next to the pool is a huge recreation building where you will find scheduled activities for young and old alike (bingo, ceramics, arts and crafts, ping pong tables, etc). Local entertainment (magicians, gospel singing, Luau shows) are scheduled often through the year. Ocean Lakes also sponsors many entertainment and specialty events throughout the year. Check their website for calendar for schedule. Here you can also get discount coupons for golf and many of the local attractions. In this area also is the new arcade with over 80 games. There is a grocery store and a gift shop for your everyday needs. Security is 24/7 and is strictly enforced.
Ocean front recreation areas include large playground structures, shuffle board, basketball courts, bocce ball, horse shoes and volleyball. Check with the rec center regarding check out materials for these sports. Skateboard park is located under the large gazebo tower.
There is a beach front non-denominational worship service every Sunday morning provided by Ocean Lakes Campground.

Kristi and Kay were both super helpful very responsive. This little cottage was small but held my small family perfectly. A little dated but didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach and Ocean Lakes Campground. The instructions were simple and clear for the property. It was clean and maintained. We enjoyed the patio. Nice neighborhood. It is a good many blocks from beach and water park so if your traveling with older people a golf cart is a must which the family enjoyed so much. A plus was we didn’t have to leave the campground much at all with all their amenities such as water park, beach, arcade, putt putt, etc. Supet friendly staff at the Ocean Lakes campground. My only concern was parking it was a little tight with a full size truck another small vehicle I don’t believe would have fit behind me. It did also have golf cart parking and easy access to charge the golf cart. Over all I would stay again we enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your cottage with my family.

Host was very nice and answered questions right away. House was in a very quiet location and very clean. It was well equipped with kitchen equipment. It’s a little dated on the inside but I understand if they rent it out a lot. It’s definitely not a deal breaker.! It was cozy and nice. Only thing that would have made it better is a washer and dryer. I would definitely stay again.

Pros: Check in was easy, instructions were easy to follow, good communication from owner.
Cons: This place needs a major overhaul! It has a smell that I think comes from the carpet that is throughout the entire rental. Even though it’s professionally cleaned, I just think it’s old and musty. The beds are not comfortable, even with foam toppers. The hot water heater does not accommodate showers for 4 people. It was clean but just didn’t feel clean... like it needs a deep cleaning. It just wasn’t for us. We won’t be returning and will spend more money for a nicer place in the future. This was a last minute idea and all of the nicer less expensive rentals were taken since it was for the Halloweekends event.
